If the illegal aliens leave .. with all the people retiring... 2.8% is a very real possibility for a health economy with low taxes.

Of course it is an insane idea to a high tax liberal or a socialist. They understand high taxes destroy the economy.

I just saw/heard on the news, if I didn't misunderstand, that in the event of a government shutdown soldiers won't get paid on time but congressman will.

We NEED a whole new congress people, and term limits to keep it that way.

  3. ok so after a bunch of people called bs on the republicans they decided to change their made up numbers:
Heritage: Our Wildly Optimistic Budget Analysis May Be a Tad Off
After widespread criticism that its analysis of Paul Ryan's budget was optimistic to the point of absurdity, an author of the Heritage Foundation is admitting to reporters that his numbers may have been a tad off. But he firmly lays the blame at the feet of the CBO, the independent analyst tasked with evaluating the impact of congressional legislation on the budget, for any of his errors.

The most glaring number was Heritage's unemployment projection, which they saw dropping to 6.4% in 2012 and an unprecedented 2.8% in 2021. In an interview with Slate's Dave Weigel, the director of the Heritage Foundation's Center for Data Analysis, William Beach, admitted his study's figures might strain belief.

You folks have run out of other peoples money and are now borrowing trillions yet you can't manage to cut $40B from the budget? Ridiculous.

Paul Ryan showed leadership and serious ideas when Barrack Obama just kicked the can down the road, no cuts to entitlements or any other serious proposal. Obama is a out-of-control spender and it is going to end soon. Men like Paul Ryan are showing that the cuts under consideration now don't even come close to saving the country. We need to return to spending about 20% of GDP, period.

  5. ok get your guys to make the following cuts and then get back to me on eliminating medicare and ss.

    50% cut in military spending
end all of the religious wars we are fighting now
    end oil company subsidies
    end farm subsidies
end tax breaks for the rich
    end corporate welfare

so far not a single one of these were proposed in the republican budget. in fact the republicans actually proposed to incease military spending.

No, first the socialist giveaways have to go. The high-speed rail fanstasy. The wind-power fantasy. The electric-car fantasy. All of the mindless liberal programs paying for "cowboy poetry festivals" and the like. All must go first.

Then corporate taxes must be cut to attract investment and ultimately get people back to work. Individual income taxes must fall into three strata: 8%, 15% and 23%, no more people paying zero income tax and getting a huge refund because of it. Everyone that earns income pays taxes. Progressive but not Socialist.

Then we must end the ban on domestic oil drilling and encourage natural gas production and utilization. There has to be an energy future, obviously, but Obama can't seem to see past next week with regard to securing our sources of energy while China is locking down their sources worldwide.

  7. typical republican nonsense. corporate taxes are already less than 17%. just in case you forgot george bush was a big fan of the earned income tax credit.

i noticed you neglected to mention any of the cuts i asked for before we touch medicare and ss. i guess you dont mind republican socialism. what about:
    50% cut in military spending
end all of the religious wars we are fighting now
    end oil company subsidies
    end farm subsidies
end tax breaks for the rich
    end corporate welfare

    Nonsense.

Obviously all the marxist-leftist spending must go first. Corporate taxes are already among the highest on Earth (unless you are GE and your CEO is kissing Obama's ass). That is why businesses are fleeing the country in droves. The jobs go with them in case you haven't yet made that connection.

You don't take from the rich and give to the poor. You encourage the rich to employ the poor in an environment where they can profit. The economy runs on self-interest not some communist ideas about income redistribution.

  10. nonsense. the effective corporate tax rate is about 17%. that includes all the small corporations that are not able to skirt tax law like these big guys.

    1) ExxonMobil made $19 billion in profits in 2009. Exxon not only paid no federal income taxes, it actually received a $156 million rebate from the IRS, according to its SEC filings. [Note: Our post last April reported that ExxonMobil was owed $46 million by the IRS.]

    2) Bank of America received a $1.9 billion tax refund from the IRS last year, although it made $4.4 billion in profits and received a bailout from the Federal Reserve and the Treasury Department of nearly $1 trillion.

    3) Over the past five years, while General Electric made $26 billion in profits in the United States, it received a $4.1 billion refund from the IRS.

    4) Chevron received a $19 million refund from the IRS last year after it made $10 billion in profits in 2009.

    5) Boeing, which received a $30 billion contract from the Pentagon to build 179 airborne tankers, got a $124 million refund from the IRS last year.

    6) Valero Energy, the 25th largest company in America with $68 billion in sales last year received a $157 million tax refund check from the IRS and, over the past three years, it received a $134 million tax break from the oil and gas manufacturing tax deduction.

    7) Goldman Sachs in 2008 only paid 1.1 percent of its income in taxes even though it earned a profit of $2.3 billion and received an almost $800 billion from the Federal Reserve and U.S. Treasury Department.

    8) Citigroup last year made more than $4 billion in profits but paid no federal income taxes. It received a $2.5 trillion bailout from the Federal Reserve and U.S. Treasury.

    9) ConocoPhillips, the fifth largest oil company in the United States, made $16 billion in profits from 2007 through 2009, but received $451 million in tax breaks through the oil and gas manufacturing deduction.

    10) Over the past five years, Carnival Cruise Lines made more than $11 billion in profits, but its federal income tax rate during those years was just 1.1 percent.
