Most people forget that Paul Krugman was a consultant for ENRON, receiving $37.5K for his services. (Krugman says that was a bargain since he usually charges $20k for a one-hour speech.) In 1999 he wrote a complimentary article about ENRON. Two years later, in 2001 when ENRON collapsed, he turned around and bashed Enron in an article in which he placed much of the blame on ENRON's consultants... Go figure.
