  4. Brazil's 1982 world cup team was the most arful ever. But they lost - fans everywhere knew that this team was poetry itself - agree with all the comments in Utube.

Socrates is up there with Pele, Johann Kreuff, Maradona, Ronaldo et al.

  5. World cup soccer 2010:

USA vs England result: DRAW 1-1

    My 2 centavos anal-ysis:

I'm very happy with our performance. I think we have a good chance to get thru' the round. No guaranties but the odds are good.

USA goalkeeper has the heart of a lion; such excellent saves. Took a boot and possibly a knee to the chest but fought on.

England with its superstars, Rooney and Gerrard razzle-dazzled in the opening minutes when Gerrard scored a brilliant goal. But then they fell apart - looks like they are still plagued by decades of bad luck.

America is still a young team IMHO - I see loads of +ves, esp. good unity and team spirit. The TWO big shortcomings are their inability to hold possession and their penchant for firing off aimless highballs.

If they can work on these 2 issues we're going to have a lion of a team down the road.

Dempsey's nice goal has probably ruined the English goalkeeper's entire year - it had spin but Green should have caught it.

    Here's Dempsey's goal

Here are the highlights - sorry, only in spanish.

  7. The world's best soccer commentator. He's mexican, was interviewed stateside by Fox TV a few years ago - apparently americans couldn't believe that just one word, G O A L
could make a person so famous and universally loved in the soccer world.

The 2 TV women interviewers had their bushes on fire about 30 seconds into the melodious G O A L

  8. This what I'm talking about .... see/hear this commentator in action ......

    madness, madness, madness :) :D

Lionel Messi is the current Argentinian superstar and widely expected to be this world cup's MVP.

In this video the commentator follows Messi's beautiful goalrun and score.

    Sheer poetry!!!!! :)
