Pattaya - The Ultimate Trading Location

Discussion in 'Chit Chat' started by retaildaytrader, Nov 28, 2009.

  1. a typical day in retaildaytrader's life if Chiangmai were his ultimate trading location .....

a theater/movie/concert night on the town with buddies till 2:00 AM

goes home, crashes out, wakes up to this view amidst peace and quiet, drinks coffee, does his market analysis and plugs in his trades

then goes out, picks up NYT & WSJ and off to this coffeeshop for some reading, introspecting .....

later, hungry, he's off to this place for a late breakfast, a place frequented by doctors, nurses, Uni. grads, actresses et al

    http://www.openchiangmai.com/Coffee_Shop_at_Nimmanhemin_road_Chiang_Mai_1597.html

his new girlfriend, a 24-yr old intern-doc says she'd like to go to the temple, so off they go .... later they discuss Art, Religion, Culture etc.,

for dinner they decide against this pretentious place frequented by stateside TARP looters

and instead go to one of 100s warm and friendly places

An entire day and not a single hooker aka bargirl seen or heard

    :) :D

  3. Why bother to leave your hometown then, sounds boring to me!

  4. Good point. :) Answer is simple! .... Found it!!

lived in several countries before coming here. Max. time per country was 2 yrs., then boredom came rapidly and had to move on.

This is the end of the line for me.

  5. :)

I think he's a good trader, but know for sure I'm not, but he's been around alot longer - maybe I'll catch up someday.

Earlier in the thread he put up a picture of some condos in Pattaya - I remember being in that area, if correct, it was the tail end of jomtien, nice restaurants too.

  6. And op is right to defend thai sex workers ...

they're nice girls. ALL of them.

Maybe as high as 85% come from Isaan, the northeast of Thailand. Most have one thing in common ....

at least one child, poor as poor can be, the sole supporter of Mama & Papa (boys in this country are useless), beaten to a pulp by the former thai husband for years - the straw that broke ... was when he started screwing other girls right in front of her.

That's when she made her escape - had nowhere to go, no money no prospects, her body the only commodity left - serendipity brought her right to the doorsteps of a bar in Pattaya.

She stays with 4-6 other girls in a cramped room and almost all the money she earns, goes straight back home to Mama.

That's the story and the deviation from the norm is under 2%.

They're all nice girls who've been dealt a tough hand.

    (Judgement left to the MAN)

    :)

  8. Chiangmai's carribbean music dance place now does Haitian.

All the thai women I know (white women too) swoon over Haitian music - they just can't get over it.

op wrote a thread about money for Haiti .... good for him but here few have a clue about one aspect of Haiti's greatness ...
its music - with influence all the way deep into Africa and South America affecting music strains like soukous, Kenyan and Ugandan melodies and even all the way into Zimbabwe and SA - on into Belize's punta rock and Latin's merengue and salsa.

When Zouk was dying, it looked to the poor blacks of Haiti for resurrection.

stateside heavyduty Haitian music collectors are Billy Clinton, Barack Obama & Jonathan Demme. In fact Bill and Hillary honeymooned in Haiti. And the band was ..... ?

Now white house workers know what that lively stuff was they heard during Billy's presidency and now Barack's ..

    its called Kompas

it first hit america in 1989. I stumbled into it in 1990 and never looked back.
