Patriot Act: is it to control terrorist's or citizen's trading account ?

Discussion in 'Politics' started by harrytrader, Nov 15, 2003.

1. Patriot Act obliges the brokers to declare trading account if they don't do so there is a fee (oh great) ... but limited to 1 million dollar hahaha that means all small account of every citizens will be systematically declared whereas the criminal account which are most probably more than several hundreds of million of dollars will be probably hidden !

2. There is no question that the Patriot Act is to monitor the financial activities of everyone and not simply those of 'terrorists'.

3. its amazing how quickly the American people agreed to abandon their liberties when they were told its neccesary to fight the external enemy. or maybe its not.. happened before in history a few times im sure. what they dont realize is that once they give away a part of their liberties, they wont get it back when the external threat is no longer there. it's a one way street.

4. "Beware the leader who bangs the drums of war in order to whip the citizenry into a patriotic fervor, for patriotism is indeed a double-edged sword. It both emboldens the blood, just as it narrows the mind. And when the drums of war have reached a fever pitch and the blood boils with hate and the mind has closed, the leader will have no need in seizing the rights of the citizenry. Rather, the citizenry, infused with fear and blinded by patriotism, will offer up all of their rights unto the leader and gladly so. How do I know? For this is what I have done. And I am Caesar."
-- Julius Caesar

"Why of course the people don't want war. Why should some poor slob on a farm want to risk his life in a war when the best he can get out of it is to come back to his farm in one piece? Naturally the common people don't want war: neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country."

- Hermann Goering,
Nazi Reichsmarschall

5. Rearden Metal, good find Julius Caesar quote. History just keeps on repeating it self.

Here is more from the Nazi State of the Union Guidebook

MEIN KAMPF: The State of the Union Guidebook
"The receptivity of the great masses is very limited, their intelligence
small, but their power of forgetting is enormous. In consequence of these
facts, all effective propaganda must be limited to a very few points and
must harp on these in slogans until the last member of the public
understands..."
-- Adolf Hitler, Mein Kampf, pp. 180-181.

"In political matters feeling often decides more correctly than reason."
-- Adolf Hitler, Mein Kampf, p. 173

"All propaganda must be popular and its intellectual level must be adjusted
to the most limited intelligence among those it is addressed to.
Consequently, the greater the mass it is intended to reach, the lower its
purely intellectual level will have to be."
-- Adolf Hitler, Mein Kampf, p. 180

"But the most brilliant propagandist technique will yield no success unless
one fundamental principle is borne in mind constantly and with unflagging
attention. It must confine itself to a few points and repeat them over and
over."
-- Adolf Hitler, Mein Kampf, p. 184

"[Propaganda] must be aimed at the emotions and only to a very limited
degree at the so-called intellect... The art of propaganda lies in
understanding the emotional ideas of the great masses and finding, through a
psychologically correct form, the way to the attention and thence to the
heart of the broad masses."
-- Adolf Hitler, Mein Kampf, pp. 180

"[This is the] very first condition which has to be fulfilled in every kind
of propaganda: a systematically one-sided attitude towards every problem
that has to be dealt with."
-- Adolf Hitler, Mein Kampf, p. 182

"The purpose of propaganda is not to provide interesting distraction for
blasé young gentlemen, but to convince. the masses. But the masses are slow
moving, and they always require a certain time before they are ready even to
notice a thing, and only after the simplest ideas are repeated thousands of
times will the masses finally remember them."
-- Adolf Hitler, Mein Kampf, p. 185

Most people prefer to believe their leaders are just and fair even in the face of evidence to the contrary, because once a citizen acknowledges that the government under which they live is lying and corrupt, the citizen has to choose what he or she will do about it. To take action in the face of a corrupt government entails risks of harm to life and loved ones. To choose to do nothing is to surrender one’s self-image of standing for principles. Most people do not have the courage to face that choice.
“Hence, most propaganda is not designed to fool the critical thinker but only to give moral cowards an excuse not to think at all.”

The Caesar quote would be even better if it was real. Instead that quote is an internet hoax, not even attributed to Shakespeare, let alone Caesar. It's myth.

Very true, Bush didn't even have to be particularly inventive, he just had to copy an evil Nazi to get his personal evil roadshow rolling, while simultaneously ripping up our constitution by suppressing and destroying vital and elementary parts of our democracy, civil rights, individual freedom and judicial due process at home.

Here is a pic of Goering:

9. Anyone remember this thread from 06/30/2003???

Brilliant! This is how it is done.
Trading, life, war, heck it's all the same.
Do you want the crowd to follow? Easy! Keep on repeating the same. Every hour on the hour.
It won't be too long until perceptions start to form and believed as truths.

"WASHINGTON – In his prime-time press conference last week, which focused almost solely on Iraq, President Bush mentioned Sept. 11 eight times. He referred to Saddam Hussein many more times than that, often in the same breath with Sept. 11.

Bush never pinned blame for the attacks directly on the Iraqi president. Still, the overall effect was to reinforce an impression that persists among much of the American public: that the Iraqi dictator did play a direct role in the attacks. A New York Times/CBS poll this week shows that 45 percent of Americans believe Mr. Hussein was "personally involved" in Sept. 11, about the same figure as a month ago.

The administration has succeeded in creating a sense that there is some connection [between Sept. 11 and Saddam Hussein]," says Steven Kull, director of the Program on International Policy Attitudes (PIPA) at the University of Maryland.

Polling data show that right after Sept. 11, 2001, when Americans were asked open-ended questions about who was behind the attacks, only 3 percent mentioned Iraq or Hussein. But by January of this year, attitudes had been transformed. In a Knight Ridder poll, 44 percent of Americans reported that either "most" or "some" of the Sept. 11 hijackers were Iraqi citizens. The answer is zero.

According to Mr. Kull of PIPA, there is a strong correlation between those who see the Sept. 11-Iraq connection and those who support going to war."

Don't forget the markets. Pay attention to the puppeteers behind the curtains. They can be our best friends or worst enemies. Tape reading is king, follow the $$$$ trail. Offers, bids, sizes, may help or may deceive. It's the printed size and price that tells the story.

The USA Patriot Act

Penalties

7. The Act increases civil and criminal penalties for money laundering to an amount equal to not less than two times the amount of the transaction but not more than one million dollars."

But when you read newspaper for the mass public it doesn't of course mention this crucial detail !
"Patriot Act requires banks to increase customer scrutiny"

In Europe they did even better for "anti-laundering": All accounts under 10000F (less than 1500$) must be declared what a farce of efficiency !
