You listed a group of people below the law, charged with things that most others would not be. Do you think Trump should do the same with Biden's people once he is in the white house
The crimes the people on this list were convicted of -- require prison sentences irrespective of party. If Democrats committed these crimes to undermine our democracy then they should be locked up as well. But Democrats have not committed these crimes, it was MAGA Republicans.
No matter what trump is done. Seal team six is standing back and standing by just waiting for Clarence Thomas and Alito to give Biden the green light.
As a "first time offender" on the Class E felonies that Trump is charged with in New York -- it is likely Trump will get probation rather than a prison sentence. What Trump needs to watch out for is the state trial on racketeering and conspiracy charges in Georgia (if the trial for Trump is held before the election). Note that many of his co-conspirators have already accepted plea deals to flip and the charges involving election interference involving racketeering and conspiracy are much more serious than the charges in New York. Additionally Trump will be appearing in Georgia court as a convicted felon rather than a "first time offender" -- allowing the judge easily to make a case for imprisonment in Georgia -- plus a state appeals process in Georgia involves the defendant typically being locked up as the appeal is in motion rather than being set free. However it is unlikely that Trump will go on trial in Georgia before the election as the state appeals court hears Trump's appeal if Fani Willis can remain on the case (scheduled for August at earliest). All The GOP Lawmakers Telling Trump To Drop Out After His Felony Conviction These are the Republican leaders standing up and putting country before party. https://www.huffpost.com/entry/repu...lty-verdict-resign_n_6658fafde4b08f9fa13ff7aa (This list will be updated as the GOP statements come pouring in.)
Aaron Blake: “It’s been a slow boil over many years, but this week truly solidified the GOP’s long drift away from the rule of law — and embrace of Trump’s misleading claims about the legal process.” “Almost without exception, Republicans decried the verdict of Trump’s jury of peers. Even moderate Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME), who offered vanilla responses to Trump’s indictments last year, decided that Trump has been singled out. Collins also falsely claimed that District Attorney Alvin Bragg (D) had promised to prosecute Trump.” Michael Tomasky: Susan Collins’s really dumb Trump defense reveals the GOP’s sickness.
Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) called for the Supreme Court to “step in” to overturn the guilty verdict against Donald Trump in his “hush money” criminal trial, Axios reports. Said Johnson: “I think that the Justices on the court – I know many of them personally – I think they are deeply concerned about that, as we are. So I think they’ll set this straight.”
