Kaepernick quit the NFL's 49ers (and gave up $14.5 million), not the other way around. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/18796373/colin-kaepernick-san-francisco-49ers-opts-contract
I never heard of Parler until two days ago and didn't know Amazon had web hosting services. Regardless, Amazon must have known about what was happening on Parler for a very long time and did nothing or very little. That makes them complicit or maybe enablers for a buck. wrbtrader
What it possibly could be; up until now many people & organizations have been lenient, tolerant, allowing for 'free speech' but it has come to a head now after the Capitol rioting. Large corporations are displaying intolerance at this bad behavior and are withdrawing their financial support. As well, they don't wish to be seen complicit with Trump and his mob as that will have repercusions later. It's like China, the West were tolerant once, but the wind has changed now permanently unless a new leader is brought in.
To be fair, Amazon has a problem with Parler being used to plan violence/illegal activities, imo. This is recent and in response to the election. I don't think that they have been planning insurrection activities for years. Also, I doubt Amazon has been paying people read every post, or monitor every customer's front end, or scan/inspect/decrypt/decode all of the server traffic of every customer. I simply believe that if they receive a complaint, they look into it. News events, like recently, would also cause them to look into it.
Parler aligned themselves with POTUS from its onset. Amazon's been fighting Trump's insecure wrath for a while, they'd have to weigh the consequences of a DOJ unleashed against them if they banned them earlier
