  1. What Paris can expect behind bars?

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Paris Hilton better like chicken. The hotel heiress was sentenced Friday to 45 days at the Century Regional Detention Center, Los Angeles County's jailhouse for women just south of downtown in Lynwood.

Inmates get three low-sodium meals a day, with dinner the only hot meal. Beef and pork aren't permitted -- "it's all poultry-based," said Capt. Alice Scott, who oversees the 2,200-inmate facility she describes as "a very nice place."

Like other high-profile Los Angeles County inmates -- O.J. Simpson, Robert Blake, Robert Mitchum, Sirhan Sirhan and Charles Manson -- Hilton will be segregated from the general population for her own safety, living in a one- or two-person cell.

Her cell will be Spartan: 12-by-8 feet with a toilet, sink and a window 6 inches wide. She'll comb her blonde locks in a mirror made of polished metal.

Breakfast is served between 6 a.m. and 7:30 a.m., hours when Hilton sometimes gets in after a night of partying.

Inmates in segregation are allowed outside their cells for at least an hour each day to shower, watch television in the day room, participate in outdoor recreation or talk on the telephone, Scott said. There are a bank of phones that use prepaid phone cards -- cellular telephones and Blackberries aren't allowed.

There have been other celebrities at the women's jail. Actress Daryl Hannah, arrested last year for failing to leave a 14-acre inner-city garden where farmers were being evicted, spent a few hours there.

A year ago, former "Lost" actress Michelle Rodriguez showed up to serve a 60-day jail sentence for violating probation terms after her drunken driving arrest in Hawaii. She was released in hours because of overcrowding.

Sometimes stars are allowed to do their time in a jail of their choosing. In such cases celebrities pay a daily room-and-board fee to the smaller jails, which afford them more privacy and comfort.

Sean Penn found a jail in Bridgeport, a remote town on the eastern flank of the Sierra, to serve a 60-day sentence in 1987 for fighting with a photographer in violation of his probation for a barroom brawl.

Cop-slapping actress Zsa Zsa Gabor served three days behind bars in 1990 at the El Segundo jail near the Los Angeles International Airport. She paid $85 a day.

But the judge in Hilton's case wouldn't allow such an arrangement, so she'll head to Lynwood on June 5.

  2. I agree. Daddy Hilton will empty his pockets to get a retrial… and don’t be surprised when the new judge is a friend of the family.

  3. What everyone seems to think is that because we're happy about her going to jail, well then we must be jealous. I can assure you that I am not.

Let's say for instance that someone like Julia Louis-Dreyfus who comes from WAY more money than Paris does, got arrested...well I guarantee you that most people would feel for her and come to her defense....

So it's not being jealous of money, or else there would be 10 times as many Julia haters out there....the fact is that Paris has broken the law MANY TIMES, and if she were ANYONE else she would have already served jailtime for something along the way...she is getting off EASY considering how many laws she's broken and I suppose that if I were a criminal, I'd probably be jealous of the fact that it took her until now to get caught... regular folk wouldn't have been given as many chances.

It's laughable that she and her lawyers think this is ludicrous, really it is....and the next one who's going to have to face the music is Nicole Richie....she was on probabtion when she got caught on the wrong side of the freeway, under the influence of something. Anyone else woulda been arrested and jailed on the spot.

I'll tell you who is creaming in their pants right now though...the producers of 'The Simple Life'.....this media frenzy is just in time for the show's 5th (or whatever it is) season debut.

****You guys....I'm willing to make bets with you on whether or not she does time.....She will....Absolutely, without a doubt****

  8. Bwaahahaha.(slinks off into villain lair)

Shes a stupid bimbo, who probably just scraped by enough brain cells to pass the license test in the first place.

Oddly, shes easily rich enough for a chauffeur, yet there looking at a taxpayer funded sentence for a driving infraction.

Julia louise dreyfuss whatshername? Shes not blond, or slutty, she could be arrested for anything and it wouldnt be newsworthy.
    Shes unnatractive, men dont care.

  9. I despise Paris Hilton...but this is F-ing ridiculous!!

this is no lie...My license was suspended in 1998 for s. florida tickets never paid...I was pulled over no less then 5 times from 98 to 2005 ..in one case, i was given a speeding ticket for 75 mph in a 60...and told by the cop that not Holy was my license suspended but it expired in 2000!!...I told him, "holy shit sir"...he let me go...I finally, in August of 05 took care of it because i was leaving the country for a cruise....bottom line..These celebrity judges are out of control...Just like the Anna Nicole judge who made an ass of himself....ten minutes of fame so they go overboard...45 days? The judge should either a) be removed or b) be forced to sentence every driver like this with the same sentence...you would fill up the jails in LA in an hour!
