All of my browsing is tracked by Google? You do understand that Browsing and Searching are not the same things...right?

  2. Google has a service called Web History that tracks your web browsing even across different computers if you have a Google account and opt-in to this service. You can disable it of course but most people usually don't even know it is enabled in the first place.

Xena said without qualification that Google is tracking your browsing, not that they are tracking it if all three of these conditions are met (1) You have google toolbar installed (2) You are logged into Google and (3) You have opted in to this service. Big difference.
Of course its much more exciting to say hyperbole like "All your browsing is tracked by google" then to actually discuss the facts.

  4. The main concern is not who said what but how do we really ensure our online security? Please see below:

The first url does not show properly in all ways, maybe "y m a i l" is not allowed, hence am giving the same url with spaces as below:
    dail y m a i l.co.uk/sciencetech/article-1341402/Microsoft-warns-Internet-Explorer-bug.html

Can someone explain why only "y m a i l" is not allowed here, see below all names of popular email services are shown, but not "y m a i l" which becomes stars:
    ***** (y m a i l)
    yahoo
    hotmail
    gmail
    lycos
    myway
    earthlink

  5. 'Google, Mozilla detail new privacy features' by Hayley Tsukayama

"Google and Mozilla announced that they will have new privacy features in
their browsers that allow users to exert more control over how their information
is used by advertisers. After the Federal Trade Commission recommended
that a do-not-track feature be implemented in all browsers, Internet Explorer
announced that IE9 would have that option."

  6. this is interesting because it seems like it would damage Google's own ad business

yes, I noticed it ages ago when i was looking on Ebay for a digital camcorder, and from then on every youtube video I wathced had ads for digital cameras running down the side of the screen.
Mildly worrying that everything you do online is being tracked, but I can still sleeop at night.
