I'm moving down for the whole package--- beach, warm clear water, fishing, HNW investors, catching the fund migration to PB, taxation advantages, among many other reasons. Always wanted to live beach front, nows the ideal time...
forget the weather. use fla as second home. the hedge fund center of the world (and you guys know this) is greenwich, westport ct. surf come here and i will host you well..i promise.
Scottsdale's nice, but July-Sept are absolutely brutal in terms of the heat. I don't care that it's "dry" heat, it's still hot as heck!
I have spent some time in Weston CT and Greenwich---- beautiful places--but i wanna give the south ocean drive thing a shot this year. thanks for the invite. surf
Florida has that steamy heat especially after a shower [that makes you want to stay inside or in you car] also Summer is hurricane season. but choosing between NYC and Florida, I'd pick Florida [too crowded and expensive living in NYC]
http://www.palmbeachsun.net/Gossip_2.html Read it beginning to end...You'll learn all about Palm Beach behind the scenes.
The "Old South" isn't going to hand their money over to a "Yankee". Since South Florida is already crawling with NE transplants, it's a seamless transition. The fact that there are 50-100 million dollar oceanfront estates changing hands speaks volumes to just how much money is down there.
Thank you, Denner. I apprieciate the link--- will read it. The more I look into PB, the more I see there are some serious scallywags in that area---- Here's an article about being "too honest for the country club" from south fla. http://www.linkedin.com/groups?gid=4905497&trk=hb_side_g Hopefully, we will eventually help change the environment positively. surf
forget Palm Beach, Silicon Valley billionaires call Carmel on the Sea their beach town not to mention Clint Eastwood & Doris Day...
