IMAO: Kos Kids and the Palin Rumors So, if you haven't been following the crazies at Kos, here's basically what they've been saying about Palin: Palin faked that she was pregnant with Trig to cover up that her daughter Bristrol was actually pregnant. When the baby was born and they found out he was black, so she bleached his skin to further conceal the truth. When nosy reporters got close to her secret, she killed a hobo, put the corpse in a gorilla suit, and froze it to claim she had bigfoot and cause a big media distraction. The hobo had hobo friends, though, and they started asking questions, so Palin had to murder them too and bury them in the middle of nowhere. But then there was a proposal to build a bridge to nowhere so she had to oppose that to keep people away from her secret. Then she still wasn't able to conceal the truth, so she forced Bristol to get pregnant again and changed the medical records so that it looked like Bristol was pregnant when Trig was born so Trig couldn't be hers. Finally, she joined a radical Alaskan separatist group to prepare to secede Alaska from America to join with Russia and wipe out the U.S. to fully conceal the truth. Anyway, a good deal of the Kos Kwazies believe all this, while others argue that it's good to put out these rumors even if they aren't true, not realizing there isn't anyone outside of the Daily Kos dumb to believe any of this. So, what should we do? I say we make a fund raiser to buy them helmets. The people at the Daily Kos are obviously so dumb they are in constant risk of head injury. You may say, "So what. I want those left-wing nuts to have head injuries." That's just putting politics above basic humanity, though. We shouldn't want anyone to hurt their heads. So it's incumbent upon us to buy the Kos Kids helmets. That way they can type away safely, diving under a table when they think they hear Rove with less risk of head trauma. Also, we'll be able to spot them at political rallies in their nice new helmets and can give them cookies and milk to help them calm down. That's what compassionate conservatism is all about.
here is Stu hating religion again. OK stu why don't you define slavery as it was used in your quotes. Frankly, I do not know the answer nor do I care, because I do not view the bible as a civics lesson. But I know those who do and I have heard very detailed explanations of the difference between slavery and bond servants. And considering my rate of taxation when I was single and making a lot of money trading - I felt like a bond servant. As a side note... Since being single and making good money, I make less, I have three kids (nice tax deduction there and I had massive interest write offs, last year. Now, I am thinking wow if I get health care from the Dems - I might not have to work all that much. Go Obama. just kidding. But I will say, now, I know why people are not as pissed off at the tax code as I was. That code is freaking joke. My family is a much bigger drain on society and I pay less taxes. A single guy, without a house making a few six figures is so screwed it is not just. Then a family comes makes less -writes off 3 kids, gets a rebate, has 36,000 in interest payments, writes off his mileage, has a moving expense and boom - hardly owes anything or gets money back. That tax code is one screwed up code. If that happens every year I could see why people vote democratic to get more handouts.
Thank you - where do I get my trophy? Before calling me a moron, you better consider there is more depth to my reply, which you are utterly unable to address. Your post suggesting irrelevance on this issue misses the whole point of the GOP platform: distract from fundamental issues (ie Medicare, Iraq funding, broad foreign policy attitude, etc) and instead concentrate on 'good american values' of gay oppression, abstinence education, fear mongering, and almost anything you can find as a literal read from the old and new testament. Stalemate and time devoted to values issues (abortion) trump real progress in more basic and fundamental problems, often leading to govt achieving nothing and spending a lot to do it. If McCain came out with a plan today that breathed of consistency and thoughtfulness rather than pandering, I probably wouldn't think this would be an issue. But the reality is that any party primarily defined by garbage in content is vulnerable to be reduced to the lowest common denominator, which are discussions of issues like this. Why? Rejecting sex education in favor of promoting abstinence force is a typical 'conservative' stand, and any opportunity to evaluate the net result of such idealogies is a direct ability to challenge the core of what the GOP is. If the GOP's fundamentals were primarily focused on solving economic and diplomatic troubles (rather than making sure the hedonist gays aren't permitted to marry), I don't think this news gossip would have any weight. But guess what? The GOP is focused on making sure "those liberals don't cause armageddon" (or some version of that).... Now do you deny the possibility of an existence of a diety? Or do you claim lack of ability for humans to ever know the answer? Or neither? Your posts often read of right wing conservatism --- forget the party ... Maybe I am unable to read in between the lines of your vastly complex writing. Just as character is one of the most important leadership traits, it doesn't matter if you are a great guy but with flawed ideologies and a poor intellect, you will still lead the country into ruin. (Bush) The public doesn't know how to qualify leadership traits. Instead they focus on 'integrity' but forget that it is actually not separable from the rest...
The post you were referring to had ZERO to do with politics or religion. I didn't even allude to it. YOU created that in your mind. I simply felt sorry for the girl as she was past the age of consent, so should be able to do anything she wants. I personally feel there is no God. I have ALWAYS believed this. Show me ONE post where I claim there is a God, other than a figure of speech as in"Oh my God!" I don't care what others think as long as creationism is not in schools. You probably think I am right wing because I am a strong critic of Obama specifically (I don't believe a word he says), and big government in general. However, I also criticize the GOP constantly for spending too much, and I am VERY far to the left when it comes to gun control, environment, abortion rights, etc. You must just ignore those posts because they agree with you. If you had to classify me, it would be libertarian I suppose. Small Gov, strong states, let people do whatever they want socially as long as it doesn't hurt anyone else. BTW, we wouldn't want you here in SD anway, so no loss there.
It was definitely not a far cry to extrapolate the possibility of this becoming an issue since it definitely has implications against the ridiculousness of many conservative ideologies. That was the basis of my point. Well it sounds like we stand on the same side of the fence (although I'm not a god denier or believer. Admittedly, the construction of 'god' is a tad too human-centric to buy as anything other than a fairy-tale hope/desire. But I say who knows... I 'believe' in nothing, not even absence of a such a force.). I'll end this pissing match if you do.
So basically, what this reduces to is that the media think Palin was horrible to accept the nomination knowing that the media would mount a cruel personal attack on her 17 year old daughter? Talk about blaming the victim. The irony of all this is that the media and their far left brain trust at dailykos and huffington have completely taken the wind out of Obama's sails. His speech to 80,000 avid kool aid drinkers at Invesco seems like it was 5 years ago. Joe Biden, remind me who he is again. It's all Palin, all the time. So on one side, we have the arrogant asses of the media, ganged up against a mother and her pregnant 17 year old daughter. Wonder which side middle america will choose?
You can believe in G_d for reasons having absolutely nothing to do with organized religion or the thoughts (and words, as recorded) of other people. Thoureau compared organized religion to apple orchards, where every apple just 'grew' to roughly the same size and shape, because the apples were passive objects and all treated the same, and came from the same seed. Cultivate your own truths.
