Given that Alaska is one of the only fiscally healthy governments in the U.S.-who exactly did she "quit on?" Against that backdrop then why the insipid comparison to Arnold? He's governing a crisis economy. She's got 5-7 billion in reserves. Besides if she's so allegedly incompetent should there not be around 300,000 Alaskans who can fill in for her? She sure as hell did her job better than any political job Obama has performed. He "quit" the Illinois Senate and the state is in fiscal ruin-due largely to policies he supported--and he "quit" the U.S. Senate-where he barely served, only to run immediately for President and run trillion dollar deficits. To this day her approval ratings in Alaska are as high as Obama's nationally. And she doesn't benefit from 13% of the polling sample (blacks) giving her 96% support. Why is Obama in your view "qualified" to be Commander in Chief? Because he opposed the surge? Great judgment. Because he's itching to fight a war in a sovereign nation that's 5 times more populated than Iraq and has nukes? The ignorant American leftists are too stupid to see the irony behind the motives of their foreign supporters. Just look around here. Do you think Thunderdog likes or loathes America? I can assure you he's resentful of everything America stands for. He wants America to FAIL. So of course he's pumped that America elected a socialist/fascist, trillion dollar a year deficiency, 9.5% unemployed, Zelaya supporting pseudo Marxist. You were supposedly a big Reagan guy. Does Obama remind you of Reagan in any way? Can you imagine Reagan blaming Carter for anything he inherited? Can you imagine Reagan whining that these are the "worst times" in generations. He's a man who ran on the motto "It's morning again in America" while stepping into a situation EVERY BIT AS BAD as this.
Care to comment on why Alaska is flush, and why so many other states (including those run by Republicans in the south) have financial problems? (Here is a hint: The answer doesn't require your usual crudity...)
And that's what makes you the caricature that you are. As soon as the presidential election was over, she was sounding all self-important about getting back to the real business of running a state. It's what drove her. It's what defined her. It's who she was. And here we are, a few short months later.
I believe you are sadly mistaken. And unlike your unreferenced claims, I will provide some evidence, even though most will see that there is a vast statistical difference in sample size that appears to be lost on you. The last time I checked, Gallop* had Obama's overall approval rating at 60% as of the end of June, with a 3-day rolling average at 62%. Meanwhile, Palin's public opinion rating in early May was at 54%, as indicated by the Hays Research Group out of Anchorage, Alaska.** Contrast that with Republican Senator Lisa Murkowski's rating of 76%. Moreover, I believe that the GOP Senator echoed my previous "quitters" comment in similar vein when she remarked yesterday . . . "I am deeply disappointed that the Governor has decided to abandon the State and her constituents before her term has concluded." That's not a Democratic Alaskan Senator (like Dennis Egan) making that kind of statement, but a REPUBLICAN ALASKAN senator who has been in Congress for the past 6 years who was born in Ketchikan, AK and not Idaho. Now you may wish to debate whether or not the word quit is synonymous with abandon, but I really don't have the time or the inclination to be so trivial. I think most would agree that they are essentially the same given that the end result of one's activity is one of termination. I also believe that America does not look favorably upon those that quit or abandon their duties. * http://www.gallup.com/poll/politics.aspx?CSTS=pollnav&to=POLL-Politics-News ** http://www.haysresearch.com/oc050509.htm
Interesting that Pabst would compare Palin's approval rating in Alaska to Obama's approval rating nationwide. Aside from Landis challenging Pabst's numbers, I wonder if Pabst took into full account that Alaska's population is about 700,000 as compared to the US's total population of over 300 million. I wonder if that comparison counts for anything in and of itself. And since Pabst's nuanced analysis raises the question of the black vote as it related to Obama's election, I wonder if he also considered whether Alaska's demographics are representative nationally.
Pabst doesn't believe for a second that Palin would be a good president. I think Pabst would like to be the next big right wing spokesman/celebrity, the next Rush except he'll use the n word and be more crude. Maybe like a Rush crossed with Stern except being more of an on air jerk. Not saying he is a jerk in his real life, I think most of his political talk here is an exaggeration, just an act so he'll be prepared for that radio spot when the opportunity comes.
the woman wasn't ready for the global stage ... and she never will be i'd put my money on more fodder for the vile, disgusting left with which to further torture her, a run in 2012 is beyond the pale
For Sarah Palin the opportunity to make millions of dollar is here now. She knows this. With books and speeches she can have more money than to be a governor. So she see that and wants that. Everyone wants to have more money. Ok, but what is hypocrite about this is she makes the speech to the Alaska people that she is doing this for the good of the people. And she tells the Alaska people how people are so mean to her son Trig with the disability to move people to believe this is why she is resigning. But it is about money and security for her and family. She is Sarah Castro. hahaha!
