P4 3.06 w/ Hyper Thread

  1. I suggest to you to wait until the FSB800, this will be a landmark for the P4, because until now the chipset with DDR was a bottleneck for the P4, but for this new release the chipset have been redesign for a better caching isntruction, this should help the hyperthreading and the memory access. If you have some notion of CPU design, the P4 have been design for massive thread and pipeline, but this feature required a lot of memory bandwidth but the DDR was not design for to optimal under these conditon (RAMBUS was better for that but more expensive). since then, Intel have redesign his chipset with a faster access, and this should unlock tha potential of the P4. On techwebsite many explain about it, just check. The release is plan for the May 11th, not to long to wait ...

Personnaly, I am waiting for it!

Thanks for the replies about the 800mhz FSB. That's exactly what I wanted to know. Was thinking of picking up a 3.06 pc but now I will definitely wait.
