P3 or P4?

  1. That's not entirely true Nitro. http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=7530 Opteron will have an OS with Linux when launched but will have to wait for the consumer Athlon64 in Sept. because of Microsoft. Many suspicions are abound with yields and SOI technology implimentation but without an OS it becomes a non issue. As for their technology with 64-bit chips it is a good competitor via this http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=7548 . But with over capacity in the computer bussiness as a whole, I don't see anyone growing market share unless a huge consolidation take place.

Let's come back in two years and see what the market has decided.

  3. Is this human years or technological dog years? By that time IBM will have acquired AMD and implimented this http://www.eetimes.com/story/OEG20010313S0113 . The bear market will be over, I'll have made my first million and won the fields medal for my work on CA, and Alphie will dominate the front end futures market. You have to get the last word though don't you so I understand your post. By the way, maybe you've never made a dime off wavelets and time series because you don't open up your mind to the different ways to group the terms as genetic algorithms have helped me (try the Harr wavelet) or maybe the simple fact you put too much trust in numbers to begin with (think patterns instead). I'm not trying to get a shot at you, just trying to help as someone did me recently http://www.comdex.com/news/fall2002/index.php?d=features&s=common&c=keynote_wolfram

    We'll see.

As for wavelets, best of luck to you.

Gnome is not an operating system - it is a desktop replacement. Others are KDE, FCE, etc.
