  2. I was referring more to privately-held assets by oligarchs and their kind. But, hey, when you have an autocratic nation going rogue outside its borders, all bets are off. What do you suggest?

You are not comparing like with like and you and now making my point. The U.K. has frozen assets, other jurisdictions are confiscating assets. Where would you invest? Which juristrictriction has the best private property rights. Answer the United Kingdom.

You did not answer my question. There is no legal basis to take the assets of any private citizen as long there is no criminal evidence of wrongdoing. It can't be political motivated.

They going rogue? Any proof? Any criminal doing and evidence?

If Mark Zuckerberg has huge assets in Moscow, should Russia just seize his assets because he is rich?

  6. Are you kidding? Russia coloring outside the lines and attacking Ukraine with no provocation? Ring any bells? News much?

As for the oligarchs, you think their hands are clean? How, exactly, do you think they became oligarchs? Where does Putin end and they begin?

That stuff happens all the time in Russia and China. Why do you think rich people want to move their money out of those countries?

they want to eat their cake (to exploit their local countries weak rule of law) and have it too (put their assets in a country that has stronger rule of law).

the new world is, don’t bring your money here if you aren’t willing to fix your own country first…. Gee, that philosophy sounds familiar.
