I think there is a major tell here that this is currently the most popular thread on elite trader and among the most popular of all time in the classified section. surf
Just what I want to do ... emulate Ms. Kardashian! Quote from slumdog: These phones prove the old saying that money doesn't buy class. The Vertu is the kind of phone you would expect Kim Kardashian to own.
How about this. <img src='http://www.instablogsimages.com/images/2007/12/21/goldvish-le-million_48.jpg'>
Cant help but agree with you there, driving a Scuderia through town for the first time, the amount of attention you get is stupid, people come to all sorts of conclusions, hes over compensating! Hes trying to stand out! He thinks hes the shit! When all that's actually happening is hes waiting for the traffic lights to change. I see no use what so ever for that phone but phones to me are a throw away item that normally end their lives when I come off a dirt bike and it gets smashed in my pocket. The things I have in life do not define me, I would not go without them, they are a reflection of my interests and tastes but they do not define me. I was the same before I had them and I will be the same when they are gone. There are many people who do try to define them selves and create a persona with the things they own yet there are a Lot more people about who define others simply by the things they own. If money is flowing free, a person is not taking a loan out and breaking their back to uphold some self created image then it simply comes down to a thing you own because it interested you. Another thing I was used to hearing, before I got rid of the friends who were fond of saying it: > Well, I work for my money! > There are people in this world (they actually think its them) who have hardly anything and they appreciate every single thing they have. Some how I do not and am morally inferior to them simply because they think I have more.
You guys need to stop with the Rolex,Bentley,Ferrari comparisons. Internally these phones are made from the same tacky plastic parts like any other $50 dollar phone.
I'm afraid you're wasting your breath. You explained twice already that the concierge service has gotten you into clubs you couldn't otherwise have accessed. What are a few good contacts from a night out at a top-shelf club worth to a hedgefund marketer? Certainly several times more than you're asking for the phone. But this is lost on the Mom's basement trolls who couldn't find a Rolodex if they spent all day at Staples...
