Hello schizo, Overtrading is a very stupid word. It is use by the Trading Sellers who make yearly income selling trading books and trading course. They use it as an excuse for customers/traders when the have trading losses to keep the trader busy doing something. If a trader had a guarantee way to never lose on a trade, they would clearly "over trade" to get rich quickly. Overtrade only comes up, when the losses come up. Disclaimer: These are just my trading opinions. Please do not take what I say as truth because I can not prove anything I say makes a lot of money trading. Please trade per your own responsibility. I have been day trading manually for 4 years and my total profits is about -$11,500 so I am not a profitable day trader, yet. For 2023, I am down -$4000. I am working on recovery day to day.
That is a very good point you make. It is only overtrading if you are negative for the day. If you are positive for the day it is "traded too much which hurt profits".
Hello Overnight, Exactly, over trading is BS thinking. It is just an excuse to have fear of losing and an excuse for having trading losses. Trader just looking for a blame for the losses. Losses is our friend too, not just wins. It is best to just trade all day if possible.
Hello SimpleMeLike, Over eating is BS thinking. It’s just an excuse to have fear of gaining weight and an excuse for having weight gains. Eater just looking for a blame for the weight gains. Weight gain is our friend too, not just weight loss. It’s best to just eat the whole plate.
SML: Hope I'm not bugging you too much. You got 4k in the red so far this year, how much have you spent on commissions?
Hello deaddog, You are not bothering me at all. I have no idea how much I spent on commissions, I do not pay attention to that.
Hmm, I would think that is something you should keep an eye on. That's like saying you are not paying attention to how much your interest charges are per month on an outstanding credit-card balance.
So you ARE paying attention to your commissions, and know what they are. Why do you go all nonplus on it then?
