Overbought/oversold

Discussion in 'Technical Analysis' started by KGTrader4, Aug 20, 2022.

  1. He is the son of Royalty. He posts at ET as you already have surmised. He made such a killing on Friday in the stock market being short, he went and bought the Caribbean disco from Nick Cage. Elon Musk will show up there again and again? He already has. I've seen him there twice in 2019.

    Here's Ken's place

He also got so fed up with people like you on this forum that he dropped his sponsorship. You probably did not notice that. Not to mention that at the time he mentioned that, a couple weeks ago, that he was gone for good, he came right back to posting. He is such an easy read. I've seen that posting behavior many times over the 30ish years I have been posting in BBS/ forums. Trust me, he will be back to sponsoring on this site soon enough.

  4. Ken Calhoun is such a softie. He crumbles and gets agitated and hot blooded when people question his actual trading (ability) and records and history and the general realities of this industry. He can't remain neutral and objective.

I'd have more respect for the guy....if he simply just said....I'm in the business of teaching.
Instead of morphing the truth to make it seem he's so much larger, and hiding behind supposed trading Laws.
Nothing wrong with choosing to be a teacher....the world needs teachers to generally educate, general students, in a general world,

It's safe to assume 99.1% of the people on ET can't trade.
99.1% of the people on YouTube can't trade.
99.1% of the people on Instagram can't trade.
99.1% of the people on TikTok can't trade.
99.1% of the people on FaceBook can't trade.
99.1% of the people on Twitter can't trade.
99.1% of the book authors on Amazon can't trade.
99.1% of the people on Reddit/WallStreetBets can't trade.
99.1% of the search results, websites, on Google can't trade.

Trading, or true trading, is all about steady, repeatable, consistency....to grow an account over and over and over and over again over many trials. No fluke success stories or random wins. And very, very, few people are able to truly do this in the world.

What indicator is that line please? And what affects the color change?

I'm not sure what your arrows are pointing out, is it an indication to enter a trade? Is it affected by the indicator line? But based on what I'm seeing, if we stop the chart right here where I crop the image, then the stochastics are showing highly oversold for several bars, so would this not be setting up a long entry? Its of course only one failed trade out of all the others marked, if the arrows do in fact indicate a possible entry, so the win rate is nicely high, but just wanted to point this out and ask for the details. Thanks.

Most here don't get it. Oscillators are just to normalise price action. They do their thing well but are only one part of the trigger. Being disappointed that it's not some magic money maker is just comedic.

THAT maybe why it still works for you; so many trend followers HATE it.[In-accurate in good trends]
I like a sell sign like 200dma; more than any RSI signal which tries to measure oversold. But 200dma does lagg a lot\LOL:D:D So plenty of study may help more than trying to predict when something is oversold
[ 2000 bear market lasted 3 years+ some got plenty of ''oversold signals in year 1 '' , of 3 year bear market.

  9. I don't know Ken Calhoun personally, have never met him, have only glanced at his website once and liked it. Teacher or trader or whatever he is, I like his style.

He has my vote. Especially considering that the op would be lost in this thread given that he is a newbie and would easily be confused.

Ken can put him on the right road. I'm sure of it.

Ken gets top marks for market direction. A Man who has that is already in the top echelon.

While everyone here was getting slotttered, Ken was short and making money.

    :thumbsup::thumbsup:

  10. Good point. Here's the thing. I personally believe any indicator is good enough if you learn its nuances not just the way the general public uses it. They all do a good enough job, not as good as one demands but still better than nothing.

RSI and Macd are all I use. I love 'em both. I don't expect miracles, I jsut expect them to

    I N D I C A T E

    that's it!

Happy camper. I don't need no other indicators. that itself is a stress relief becaue there are thousands of such indicators and can drive anyone crazy.
