I do agree that it seems likely that the rest of the world will start to catch up with our (US, Canada, Western Europe, Japan) standard of living. I'm not so sure that these places will drop in standard of living necessarily, but more likely will stagnate, as wealth is transfered to China, India, etc
Like I said in the past, the US will become a third rate country. We will produce nothing and once we finish off what is left of blue collar jobs we will try to export as much of our white collar jobs as well (Look at what happened to Programming as a career for young americans) This is what will happen in the US 20-30 years from now.
