Voters appear to be showing a slight ideological shift as fewer now consider themselves fiscal conservatives and more say they are both fiscal and social liberals.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that only 37% of Likely U.S. Voters now say they are conservative when it comes to fiscal issues such as taxes and government spending. That’s the first time that number has dipped below 40% in surveys dating back to November 2007. Thirty-nine percent (39%) consider themselves fiscally moderate. One-in-five (20%) now say they are fiscally liberal. That's up from 11% in January and the highest finding to date. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

The survey of 1,000 Likely Voters was conducted on December 6-7, 2012 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. Field work for all Rasmussen Reports surveys is conducted by Pulse Opinion Research, LLC.

So they phoned people and asked them to define themselves using these terms. I've seen interviews where reporters stood on downtown city streets for hours at a time and found that between 25 and 45% of people stopped - could not find Texas on a map of the US.

I'd be willing to bet that more than 80% of those that answered the Rasmussen poll couldn't define the terms fiscal conservative or fiscal liberal.

    Couldn't find....Texas?

I wonder what downtown city streets they were on when they asked the question?

When we were actively making war on Afghanistan and Iraq I read the most people couldn't locate either on a map or even cite any countries that bordered them.

Richest country on Earth and we've failed to educate our kids. Now those kids are voting. Its a disaster.

Was that city street in Dallas? :D Surely they could find Texas. I've seen some who could not find China but at least that wasn't covered in American History class.

  9. Of course they are. That's where their free stuff comes from.

With the parasite class having grown to 50+% of the voters, America is now officially "Fiscally Liberal"... IOW... SOCIALISTIC/MARXIST.. maybe soon to be COMMUNIST (mostly a semantic difference.)
