  2. i'm telling you, for the BD's to be this brazen really throws up red flags. they know they have a complicit media, but they also fear the states getting into the action. i just hope another fake terror attack isnt on the horizon.

Did you hear Herb on CNBC today say there might be a Reg FD investigation because PB said last week there was going to be "something big happening..."?

    Funny stuff.

  4. What would you think he'd say? You guys haven't figured outthe game yet.

The only press that will touch this will be outside the Financial World. The rest of them are too close to the free lunches and martinis.

I don't know if this means anything, but I was able to short OSTK through IB this morning pre-market. This is the first time I've been able to short OSTK in several months.

My point is that a lot of this thread has centered on naked shorting. The fact that I could get a legitimate short at IB on OSTK (which I hadn't been able to do for a very long time) seems to imply that the naked shorting conspiracy is a non-issue.

  8. all you need to do is know the issued share total, I believe 9mm, and see the short interest, and ask yourself how it happened. It impossible that that is a legitimate locate, however, it is not your problem.

I spoke with an ex SEC attorney about this. It just must piss the hedgies off royally, because they know they aren't real locates, but they pay the full vig, and they want their share. What is holding up the enforcement is the serious money invollved, billions, and the liabililty to buy back all the fake shares, bordering on a trillion by some estimates. There wouldn't be a SHO list if it didn't happen.

Stock loan is extremely lucrative, and there is a hole in the system. The same shares are lent out over and over. If you saw the guy on StreetSigns from Locatestock.com, you'd have heard him talk about real short interest, and the bad locates. The excess supply that satiates demand overwhelms normal market forces. It's a hell of a gimmick that will crush us all, and soon.

Oh yeah, there's a problem. Like Hurricane Wilma is a problem. After it's over, nothing looks the same again.

  10. Real money article hit at 11:02 Very positive......

    severely undervalued stock

That's because this company is on the cusp of capturing a winner-take-all retail category.

The numbers are jaw-dropping. Overstock has built a business with $900 million of sales (2006) while deploying just 7 cents of capital for each dollar of revenue.

The Market Opportunity for Overstock Is Huge

Amazon commands a 1.8 times sales valuation, a reasonable value given its still-to-be-unlocked earnings leverage and dominant market position. The current market value of Overstock is $527 million, or 0.58 times sales. per Arne Alsin. Part II coming this week. FYI
