Looks like the SEC is backing away from Greenberg, for now. http://www.marketwatch.com/News/Sto...8-a226-63bffd134a24&siteid=yhoo&dist=morenews But they did, according to reports, subpoena Carol Remond.
shorty did it to us ........... Lay/Skilling trial. http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/business/steffy/3632720.html
They always say shorting. They never say naked shorting. You cannot fudge financial reports, short stocks then release the reports. That is manipulation. You cannot demand "nonpublic material facts", or stop commissions, that insider trading and extortion. And you cannot naked short (over short, counterfeit shares) to take advantage of the former. Simple. Now, if you can't figure out naked shorting is not shorting, go write for the times. Nocera can't figure it out either.
Naked shorter just ran off with $185 million. Wonder which stocks Hedge fund manager Kirk Wright was shorting before he fled the country. This thread has a little info on the Atlanta hedge fund manager. http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?threadid=64724
i was wondering that also.... i couldnt find that info, nor could i locate which issue he had shorted.
This is not the first time this has happened. There hav e been several instances, the big one, a 10mm hit at FISERV. it forced them out of clearing. I don't know this is naked shorting either. THe manager might not even know. This is more and more becoming a product of stock loan. Why turn down an order? Just say yes, and collect the vig. We'll find out.
Biovail complaint too big to post. It's here: http://thesanitycheck.com/BobsSanityCheckBlog/tabid/56/EntryID/106/Default.aspx Item 66 has customers of Gradiant. If you read the accompanying blog, the Gradiant affiants have some remarkable claims to make, and sense they swore them to a Federal Judge under penalty of perjury............
