I put the preliminary post on this in the Stocks Forum, but after doing a bit of a Search, it seemed like this might be better placed here. I'm interested in how information about the Order Imbalances on NYSE stocks that's released late in the trading day might be useful (or not useful). The academic papers I've scanned talk about this from a longer-term perpective, but how might this be useful on a day-to-day basis? Or is it useful? I haven't been able to tell if there's direct impact from this info after it's released, but I'm still a bit new to equities trading on the screen. Thanks for any constructive help!
