A few months ago I have been talking to people at http://www.smartfutures.net, $10-/round turn with volume discount, they use GTEX software which is writen on the API provided by CME. some special arrangements needed.

email me and I will give details on the person I talked to.

for ib each ctci connection is individually certified and thus is a costly and labor intensive process. a dedicated lease line will be required (I think 64K will do). the monthly minimums are in place for a number of reasons including: making sure the client is serious, cover the cost of certification, traffic on the network etc. I recall that there was one developer who wrote a couple of interfaces into IB. If interested in the firm, send me an e-mail and I'll see if I can dig up the name for you.

  3. FIX protocal is available on line for free. There is also a list of vendors who sell FIX software and one that give it away as freeware...jc@cameronsystems.com

  4. Buttermilk,

Is JC the guy you were referring to that will give it to you for free? Do you know of anyone who will give you source code for free, instead of just software? Big request, but I figure someone might have found someone.

    Thanks,

    Jim

Yes JC is the guy (from Australia)...Its written in Java ....and I think that you get at least some source code. I no longer have interest since I will be starting a relationship with EchoTrade shortly and they have an API

  8. Terra Nova Trading is offering an open Order Entry API through the Terra Nova / RealTick application. This allows the user to essentially replicate the same order routing features (stops, conditionals etc.) and products (equities, options, e-mini futures) available in RealTick. More info can be obtained by emailing institutional@terranovatrading.com.

  9. FIX(Financial Information Exchange) is a messaging standard
that facilitates execution of securities electronically. FIX is
often used by program traders , since it would be impossible
to Buy & SELL 100 stocks at once, a program in C++ or
Visual Basic will send orders to NASDAQ or DOT via FIX
in miliseconds. As DEF has mentioned , more information
about FIX can be seen at www.fixprotocol.org . Most of
the information there will be of interest to programers , not
    traders.
Our firm offers REDFIX(FIX Protocol) for systems traders
connecting to REDIFIX in C++ or Visual Basic. We have
written a custom FIX engine that is free to our L.L.C.
members. The FIX engine connects REDI to the C++ or
Visual Basic programs. Custom FIX engines can cost $10,000
or more . Call some of the vendors at www.fixprotocol.org
and see how much the custom progamming costs . We have
not extra charges for FIX except that a L.L.C. member must
make a 50k capital contribution to our firm.
REDIFIX will execute trades in miliseconds! If your program
doesn't work, FIX will enable you to lose money quickly and
    automatically.
