Does anyone know if optiver has an age limit for hiring traders? I am 28 myself, could i still enroll?
I'm not sure if Optiver has an age limit, but I get the impression that they have some very specific criteria (apart from their test). I chatted one of their traders a few weeks ago at a careers event, and he invited me to take their test at a hotel the next day. I turned up, passed the test, and was asked to send them my CV and choose a date for interviews. But a week later they changed their minds and said that 'my specific background did not match the profile of an Optiver trader'. Not quite sure what they disliked, and they never elaborated ...
Does the 8 minute math test have subtraction/addition of long decimals such as 8.7564- 9.3234. The random test generator posted earlier has multiple quesions like that and doing those in under 6 seconds is quite a chore.
I was told by the Optiver recruiter in the Chicago office that the exam 8 minute test now uses the U.S. standard notation as opposed to the European : , stuff. Anyone know if this test is multiple choice or all hand written? It would be super easy to use trachtenberg to figure out hte right side of the problem and Shermer/Benjamin to get the left side if it was multiple choice.
sorry but due to our illiquid holdings of hard to value assets, our hiring is frozen while our accounts thaw..... Its probably nothing to do with you....
The notation is US standard now. The tests are all multiple choice which you have to circle or indicate in some other way. I don't even know what you're talking about with Trachtenberg Shermer/Benjamin, so I doubt it's necessary to pass...
Thats a ridiculous lie from psytrader. For a start, Optiver don't trade in illiquid options so that wouldn't be a concern in the first place. Don't listen to him.
It was a comment about all these prop firms at this time. If Citadel can't make money right now, I doubt you can, but good luck.
