It has been a while since I have used options as a stop loss. So here is my question. If you have a few shares of a stock that went up a great deal and you dont want to dump it.

    You could buy puts.
I would guess you could put on a ratio backspread.

What are the pros and cons.

    O.K

Example 100 or more shares of etn. Lets say you would put in a stop 10 -15 points lower.

What would you do with options instead?

Basically I am saying I no longer have access to option vue, so what should I do in this particular case and so the thread is worth while to others, what is a good practice?

    thanks.
