Since I'll only trade up to 10 contracts in any given lot - IB does make more sense to me. <img src="http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/attachment.php?s=&postid=2664130" />
wow... OptionsHouse starting off the year with malfunctioning quotes and unable to place orders... you get what you pay for.
Optionshouse is terrible. There is always leakage in trades. I've lost numerous trades due to leakage and failed executions. Their interface is a pain. It requires a few clicks to process transactions. Which is horrible for day trading and market orders. You're also unable to type in a symbol and press enter in the orders section (very sad). They also do not have short sell access to all stocks. A lot of stocks are restricted from short selling. You'll have to call them if you want to short sell and they have a high interest rate commission on these stocks. I won't be using them anymore. I rather pay $7 at Scottrade for a smoother interface, less leakage and wider variety of stocks. This is the worst experience I've ever had. The $4 commission is not worth it for frequent traders. I'm so angry with them. I recommend everyone to stay away.
Ive had "executed" orders not actually execute with Options House's platform before, resulting in a loss. The market never seems to scream in your direction when you are affected by platform bugs. That issue has only occurred around the open on volatile days, overall it seems to be a very amateur platform. Not sure what he is referring to by leakage either though.
You mean reported fills, that later disappeared? Or fills you believe you were entitled to, based on the tape? I'm just trying to follow along.
Reported fills that disappeared. The order ticket says success, we are talking market orders here, but no fill in my completed orders window and the position is still open. Happened with outright option positions. Never had an issue with stocks or spreads. The losses I sustained were never extraordinary, so I just moved on. Didnt figure I would have much luck arguing with them about a fleeting window that said order filled and closes, nothing to take a screen shot of. If something would have been in my completed orders I would have followed it up. It seems like something related to their Java platform in fast markets to me. To be fair, the technical issue could have been on my machine. Who knows.
since i'm into solutions not problems, switch to ib or tos (now tda) and be done w/ it. problem solved.
