is there any kind of interactive website or software that can product an accurate representation of the risk graph? i'm just lookin at credit spreads and trying to get a better understanding...n00b Thanks!!
Post the trade you have in mind. Up coming earnings and scheduled announcements can affect credit spreads and no "risk graph" will take that into consideration. Instead of a credit spread you might be better just buying options.
If you are not a Thinkorswim client then try www.888options.com which lets you graph and put in spread positions. Then you can adjust volatilities and stock price to see effects on the position.
Static risk graphs will show the profile at expiration and that includes all considerations. However to test changes prior to expiration risk grapsh can certainly show what could happen if you are using an option calculator along with the graph. You can change IV inputs and stock price to see how the spread will react to changes in vol and direction of the stock.
