Is options arbitrage a possible and profitable activity for a non professional trader ?
It now exists for non professional traders, software able to find these opportunities. (www.optionstar.com)
Nevertheless I have been told that these situations are very rare, last a very short while, difficult to catch when you are not on the pit...etc.

    What do you think ?

  2. We do that.

The tools you are exploring are never going to make that work; waste of money ...

So the activity is good but the tools are not.
    Do I understand correctly ?

So what would be the good tool for that ?

  4. The only tools that work are proprietary; send me a resume if you are really interested.

Hard game; not as easy as a few years ago ...

  5. Harder yet with the flood of professionals heading upstairs into the prop firms. Auto-ex isn't much of an advantage for public traders anymore and fast computers are easy to find.

    Because volatility is down?

Or because more people are playing your game?

    That makes sense.

I forgot what a mess the options market has turned into lately.

aw, all you have to do is move to the Bahamas, sit on the beach all day and click a few buttons between sips.

I was under the impression the most difficult aspect was counting your winnings at the end of the day.
