OPG/OO order pop-up on IB

  1. you mean what the specialist is indicating for the opening of the listed stock ? I heard some data feeds give this.

    now what I want to know is if it is accurate.
    I usually try to guess on indication based on futures,
    other stocks in sector , and where the stock traded
    pre market ...

    Indications are extremely important if you want to do OO correctly. The spoos are the key component, but indications give you the added accuracy that is needed in many cases.

    Currently, IB does not support indications, but apparently they did once. def is in the process of finding out what happened to them...:confused:

    No pop-up Friday or Monday AM. Must have been a server based thing. either way, thanks again Def for fixing that...makes trading the first few minutes much easier, rather than just clicking that pop-up 40 times. :-0

  5. This morning I put in 30 OPG limit orders. As soon as the market opens, those "Rejected by all exchanges" popups came non-stop in the first couple of minutes. so besides keeping clicking away these annoying popups, I couldn't do anything else in the first two minutes of the open. Can IB please fix this asap? at least give me a checkbox to disable it like with other popups.

    I am using the latest 838 build.

  6. This same problem started to happen again since yesterday. But now the pop-up message says "Invalid order" instead of "Order rejected", everytime when an OPG order cancels. It's very annoying that I have to click off these pop-ups in the first 5 minutes of market open.

    I think what happened is, everytime when they cancel an OPG order, the exchange is now sending a "Invalid order" message, instead of the "Order rejected" message that IB has been blocking for TWS. Can IB please block these "Invalid order" messages when an OPG order get canceled, just like what has been done to the "Order rejected"? As always, I appreciate your help!

    I am using build 851.9 BTW.

    FWIW: I've been getting the "Invalid order" blocking pop-ups both today and friday. Very irritating as I submit a large number of OPG orders.

    The pop-ups also BLOCK TWS, so it's impossible to even use TWS while the popups keep coming.

    It pretty much locks up my system for the first 3 to 5 minutes. TWS: 851.9

    def, for me at least, it's not fixed.

  8. Still a big problem for me as well. With all those pop-ups, I can't do anything in the first 5 minutes of market open.

    def, IB-soft, or anyone from IB, Please look into this. You guys fixed the same problem last year, I am sure you can do it again. Thanks in advance.

    Since this issues seems to be ignored at present by IB, I suggest we each file a ticket using IB's ticket systems.

    Then the issue at least gets logged and tracked.
