I was just checking this thread and came across your last post. I was wondering if and when you are going to start posting here again. Have you moved this thread to another forum or are you going to continue it here. I was following it with some interest. Regards
I plan to start posting content on ET in the next week or so. I am finish up some things with TradersStudio and some of the addins I am releasing and then will be ready to start putting up posts. Even before I am ready to start again , I will be happy to answer questions. If you have any questions about ORB, please feel free to ask them in this thread.
Yesterday we have a discussion on ORB on my system development thread. I have included a link to those posts, we had several pages of content, with a lot of it on ORB. This is the link to the first page which reference ORB from yesterday. http://elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=62291&perpage=6&pagenumber=31
I purchased and watched the complete video a while back and understand what you mean. If large range days can be predicted, you would have a form of the holy grail. Do you have any ideas besides the hint in the video? ???
Well , It depends on what markets you are trading. If you are trading the ten year note or thirty year bond, open to close volatility patterns repeat based on where you are in the report day schedule, for example the daily range is 2X the average on the day monthly unemployment is released. You can build a volatility map based on , reports and auction schedule. I think this effect is why there are many bond patterns which trade differently on different days of week or trading day of month. I have a database for report day analysis. Here is the link for this product on my site. The data is in ASC format. The code and documentation is for TradersStudio , but the data is in a standard ASC format. Here is the link for the product. http://www.tradersstudio.com/Produc...ID/5/psnavcmd/CatalogItemDetails/Default.aspx
Yes, it will work in TradeStation 4 as well as 2000i. The data is in the same format I used when I first created it for TradeStation. The difference is the systems and documentation for this version of the product are for TradersStudio.
Thanks for the information. I will try to start working with it and see where it goes from there. Regards
I am thinking of doing a book to follow up on the opening range breakout work of Crabel, Williams and Sheldon Knight for Stocks and ETF's. I wonder how much interest there would be in this project.
