In TradeStation I developed a nextopen dll many years ago so I can code these types of systems because Tradestation's "O of tomorrow" statement has a lot of limitations. In fact I originally developed this dll when I was working for Larry Williams during the mid 1990's for TradeStation 3.5. I then updated it for 2000i, it will still work in 8.0. I develop it because his patterns could not be coded without this DLL. I have bundled this DLL with several of my old TradeStation products.

If you want to learn more about opening range breakout you can look at part of my opening range breakout video on TradersStudio.com. The link has been on this thread many times but here it is again for convenience.

  2. I know some of your TradeStation tools are sold on e-bay. Are these materials being sold by authorized resellers or is it someone with a good printer?

I remember posting about finding some of your stuff on e-bay from several weeks back.

    Regards

I have two authorized resellers on E-Bay. Their EBay names are
ChaCheGirl and AngelaVig. They are selling many of my products for TradeStation on E-Bay. If you interested in my next open, you need to purchase my Inside Advantage Newsletter with Disk. The disk contains the next open as well as code for OOPs and many other patterns and systems. I think that they start bidding at $30.00 for this item.

    Mr. Ruggiero,

You mentioned earlier in this thread in response to someone who asked about your experience with the best systems and best traders. Among other things you said, you interviewed a trader who made $1 million over a few years using Canslim and options. I was wondering what option strategies he used? I assume they were Naked Calls with such a momentum strategy---however, it could have been Covered Calls or Straddles. Please elaborate. Thanks.

He was buying options with less than 30 days to expiration using a percentage of his account. This means that he buys more contracts when option prices are low (volatility is low) and less contracts when the market volatility is higher.
He developed many patterns based on the shell of CanSlim and using the info in IBD. One of his favorite patterns was trading in the direction of a gap. He found that stocks continue in the direction of the gap a high percentage of the time, for a short term trade.

His name is Yousef Hashmi. We have the complete interview as well as thirteen other traders in my book ,Traders Secrets. I have sold a large batch of autographed books to my E-Bay reseller, who id is Chachegirl. Just search "Traders Secrets" on E-Bay. I think she sells the book for $15.00 + shipping.

Even though the Crabel entry did not do well in the stock indexes this year it did well in Natural gas. See attached results. I used $100.00 slippage and commissions for this analysis.
You can see it made over 18K this year on a 1 lot.

If you want to know the Crabel entry. It is in part two of my opening range breakout preview. Which is free to people who are registered on TradersStudio.com. The link for part 1 and part 2 of the video is

Yes, you can get the Crabel entry for free , by just registering on TradersStudio.com.

See attached results on natual gas

The video is also available on the site for $24.95

  7. I watched the opening range breakout video over the holiday and even though the production quality was not what I expected the content was more than I had expected. I did not realize how much information there is to know about opening range breakout.

Your observation about large range days that was backed with research is counter to what I have learn from most of the published trading books out there and if I had known it before, it would have save me from taking some bad trades. I can see how you could release an advanced video picking up on topics like this. Are there any plans for that ?.
