I agree with mostly what you said. Things always change. Got to adapt to win in this business. Was wondering how u guys use automation and see the moc's update every 30 seconds and if I can get a demo of your trading platform. As my current firm does not offer anything like that. Might change if I like what I see Regards, Eric
Hmm, I can try a screenshot...not great with pc video... this is offered on the Redi Plus platform from GS. I'll try to get something to post... Don
16 fills, 1 long, 15 shorts, 15 winners, 1 loser (1.5 cents), +0.14 average. My second best day trading OPG. Played short only, except for a couple (GE, JPM, ...). They could have almost all have been better. Got some oil filled.
To Mr. Keeps... I have their spreadsheet next door, I'll post both weeks. I was sick for the first 3 days of the week. Now, as for today. Brand new boot camper, young intern, made over $4,000 this morning using only 500 shares. Everyone did well today, nice expiration.... As for me, (watching the new traders with their 2nd day of automation)... just sent in 12, got 3 fills....all 3 filled automatically within a few seconds. GE + 11 cents DD + 33 cents Dis +11 cents. Several "personal bests" set today... Don
OK, I have attached the spreadsheet for this boot camp. Keep in mind that these people are pretty much all brand new to trading, even using a platform. We had about 15 overall, some a bit timid, about half got fills every day. As mentioned, today was exceptional, but the overall results were about average. In an effort to make sure the traders kept their proper trading records, I kept a log this time, here it is. Don
I had a similar situation to you. 16 fills, 16 shorts, 16 winners. Set a record high day. +.10 average.
See if this works for you to see the imbalances etc. http://www.pairnomicshelp.com/REDI v7/DowImb/DowImb.htm Don
Don, you said you traded DD for 33 cents profit today. As I know, you only trade with the specialist, that is, you only short when stock opens higher and buy when the stock opens lower, because that is the case when the specialist has to step in. But DD today opened higher than its yesterday's close. Do not you think it contradicts with the OPG strategy?
