Opening Orders - 2008

Just curious. Has anyone noticed any trends regarding opening orders such as do they tend to be more profitable if the futures indicate a big or down opening?

Generally speaking the bigger the futures opening in either direction, the more excitement you're going to get. Sometimes it's good excitement, other times not so good.

 

Did I read your posted graphic right? You made 46K on the open?

Impressive Shreddog. Were you ever down at one point? I was 90% short today and it ran against me a lot before things got better.

 

No, I was green right from the start.

 

Fantastic. Have you ever had days that go the other way with losses that big?

 

Oh yes. There was a day in August that was just nasty. And there have been plenty of other decent sized losers. There's definitely potential for loss with this method.

 

Was good for me too. Very busy, about 130 fills, pretty equal long and short, green right away, flat fairly quick.
