I don't know about Sterling, but i can tell you that, ironically, the free nyse.com quote you get by going to the site and looking at opening price for a symbol is not reliable. Yahoo.com is not reliable either for nyse opening prices. I invite anyone to suggest reliable places to get nyse opening price quotes that will actually match the fills you get at the opening.
Hey, watch it!! LOL. I "read his mind" he meant to say $62.99. This is where being older and having telepathic powers comes into play, LOL. edit; Of course I was wrong. The stock opened up at $63.99, up $1.98 from previous close. Don
you need to use the exchange designator... sterling...nue.n esignal...nue=n and so on...do not look at composite quote if you are trading nyse openings...
I am not sure, I am probably looking at this wrong...I cant tell. Where can you see that NUE opened @ 63.99? I just want to know that I did this correctly, I am not sure I did. I am certain about my fill time, price, opg TIF hmmm
go into settings and see if you you have composite or primary checked for your quotes... switch it back and forth and you will see quite a difference
Exactly- if you look back at time and sales for instance, you'll see the first print (after 9:30 a.m. EST) on NMS was 63.00 at 9:30:01. If you scroll up a little further, you can see the first print on NYSE was 63.99 at 9:31:04 EST. Those sources must be displaying the first NMS print as the open.
Very Interesting... Gawllieee..... I did not know you guys also used your brains to trade too... thanks Don... <img src="http://www.enflow.com/p.gif">
chiguy I did, and you are correct. I had composite as default quote market. I have changed default quote market to primary. I do see quite a difference. So in hindsight I did enter my order correctly, and did get the opening print. My exit and -10... well thats another story. I was trying to figure out how I got filled instead of just getting out....but hey tomorrow is another day. Next time I will get out and do the figuring out later. Thanks all for the info and responses, much appreciated.
