18 orders, 2 fills, 2 wins, 0 loses. Got filed on shorting CAT and MRK 26 cents. 6.5 cents/share. This time I was more patient. MRK went against me, but I waited for it to come back down again and meet my original limit order with a profit at 9:37.
Don, how would you play these S&P additions/deletions? as of late, the MOC prints(NYS) has been all over the place printing against the imbalance.
1 Fill, winner, 13/share...to bad, either I was not aggressive enough, or it was just a slow expiration.
Most of the playing has been going on for a couple of weeks.. we're not relying on the final day imbalances as much these days (as you point out). Don
Hey Everyone I know this post is about the Reversal to the mean Opening Orders strategy. But.. I was wondering if Don or anyone else also play the other Opening Orders strategy which involves momentum and seeing which sector opens up really strong or weak. Hoping someone can give some insight and basic strategy on how to play that effectively. Thanks in advance.
Not so much a "reversal to the mean" - more of a riding the coat tails of the Specialist when he gaps and retraces enough to make some money for himself and us. The momentum of individual stocks tends to come into play when looking at peers/sectors and RS. Now for today (aaaggrrhhh). I took out WAG, but no CVS. Had 8 winners and one loser for a break even, LOL. Oh well, pilot error, no one to blame but me. Back at it tomorrow. Don
