I have in the past. It's a fiasco, but that has more to do with pit trading in general that OEC (although their fills can take literally hours to come back). With pit trading (at OEC and most other brokers that offer electronic order entry) you can enter the pit order, but the fill depends on someone typing it into their system, and that is subject to long delays, plus they sometimes screw up and type it in wrong (so you find out later you got a different price than you thought). Since nearly everything now trades at least side by side electronically you should avoid pits as much as possible. That said, often the electronic contract will hit prices the pit contract doesn't, so if you are using stops you can get hit when the pit never traded there.
My OEC has blinked out once today for about 15 seconds. Has been stable otherwise since last Wednesday.
Now I'm being told they feel they have isolated the problem and will have a new software release tomorrow afternoon to fix it.
Been evaluating brokers for the past few weeks. I was leery of OEC from one of the last 'ooops' that generated a thread like this. Makes it easier to narrow my choices.... R
Anybody else been getting an error message "object not set to instance of an object" or something like that? I have been getting that ever since the upgrade.
Here are the firms I will be researching today/tomorrow while waiting for OEC to get me back and running long enough to trade for a few extra bucks before I fund a new account: Infinity TransAct Global Amp Velocity Mirus Anybody have OEC type problems with any of these before I start digging here at ET and around the net?
So I'm demoing their charting software, but I can't get the stochastic to work correctly. I want a stochastic to run on the settings (5,3,3). But they only have the option to set %k and %D. Any way around this ?
Email from OEC OEC Clients, As you may be aware, OEC has been experiencing issues with our primary network in the Equinix data center. Over the past week this network issue has caused a variety of issues including the slowing/freezing of data on the DOM and traders being periodically disconnected from our servers. The issue has been isolated to a specific area of the network and is OECââ¬â¢s top priority to resolve. We understand the importance of reliability in a trading system and the OEC infrastructure was built with this core value in mind. While we have had a difficult couple of days, we expect this issue to be resolved shortly as we have all resources, both internal and external, dedicated to this issue. We appreciate your business and look forward to restoring our service to the level you have grown accustomed.
