Thanks for posting the email, I never received it. Supposedly there is a software update coming this afternoon (I don't know if it is before or after market close, my guess is after).

  3. Me no get email. Me angry!

Maybe my email was lost on the part of the network that went down?

I've been disconnected about 6 times over the past 24 hours, most are less than one minute but one didn't reconnect automatically (it was around 6 PM last night so I thought it was the nightly disconnect but after about 10 minutes I realized it wasn't coming back and reconnected manually).

I was told yesterday and this morning that new software was coming out this afternoon but I never got a notice and no download. Anybody have any news? I'm trying their chat but apparently I'm being ignored.

  6. OEC

Positives: Nice platform that is very user friendly. Comes with real time quotes and charts.....the best part is its all for FREE!!! Commisions are average but they will work with you on them.

Negatives: Probably the worst customer service in the Industry! I have never run across so many retards working in this industry in my life! Also platform tends to disconnect frequently and they have multiple problems with their charting service (tick charts are screwed up and no spread charts).

I think OEC is a good online broker for newbies but imo the negatives outweigh the positives if you are a veteran trader.

Bottom Line: Good for newbies but bad for serious traders

Just talked to customer service. They are updating software on their end, I thought I was told I would have to download something, I must be remembering wrong. Anyway he didn't say it was fixed, just that it was a high priority, blah blah blah. I talked to Infinity today and got a good rate from them. I am trying out their software. The platform is free, charts are extra but not that bad ($26 /mn). Will be talking to Amp tomorrow to see what they can do then it might be decision time since OEC can't fix their software that has been broken for over a week. That is just unacceptable.

  8. I disagree 100%.

Yes, OEC is having a data/software issue currently, but outside of this, everything has been perfect there for me.

Vast amounts of data, competitive commissions and some of the BEST customer service compared to what I've seen at other firms (Alaron, Spike Trading and Dorman to name a few). I'm sure a lot depends on who you talk to and when. I have been fortunate to have a dedicated rep to assist with my accounts and also can email/talk with their head of technology as well.

In particular, their block account management software is IDEAL for the trader/CTA trading multiple accounts. This type of function is not available on many platforms and was obviously built for the serious trader. I can alter my block settings whenever I feel like it and it's done. At previous firms, I had to send an email in DAILY and then wait and hope that when done manually it was done right. EXTREMELY time consuming to say the least.

  9. I used both IB and OEC. I trade accounts over a million dollar . OEC is a much better deal in commission, cutomer service and software (especially for Windows system).

been a quite a volatile day today so far...

it will be interesting to see how the OEC platform holds up today particularly ahead of retail sales at 8.30 this morning

i find there overall offering very good in terms of support, market coverage, fees (so/so) and OEC Trader is also good in my opinion

i'm no expert on the tech side of things but the issue seems to be the reliability of there network infrastructure....

in my view they have reached the point where they either fix it or it will undermine their business (if it has'nt already) - pure and simple

i for one will give them a while longer to sort this out...though my patience is running low.

yesterday price feed / connectivity was virtually flawless for me - lets see what today brings.....
