  1. Pro-tip: Don't assume anyone's gender, it is almost 2020. Ask for pronouns first. Your bernie bro card & Warren Wampum is revoked.

And the fine print doesn't even matter, because nobody, not even the lawmakers, read the shit they put into law. This is from the driver's license application form for NYS.

You do know all selective service applications have that disclaimer and many DMVs offer it as a favor right?

This is not a selective service application. This is a driver's license application. This is not the thing you get in the mail in year 17 of your life as a US citizen.

I know what exactly that is. It is a driver's license application for the state of New York. It is not a SSS application. This is a SSS application (registration form).

This is ridiculous. Come October of next year, we're all going to need a Real ID (or passport) to get on an airplane. Period. So will illegals be allowed to fly? How do they get any of this stuff? Do they get an exemption?

And if they are dishing out these ID's to these belegaured folks that have none of this stuff to show to DMV, does that not open the doors for people (Americans with checkered pasts, dui's etc) to claim they are illegal and give a fake name? Billy Bob Budweiser all the sudden becomes Pedro Teetotaler and he's good to go. Hit the streets again, legally, in his F-150. Just dye your hair black Billy and head on down to DMV. "No speeka English".

Oh, and just the whole concept of Real ID while I'm on the rant....
You need a utility bill... gee, people are still forging $100 bills that can pass despite the dozens of secret things Treasury embeds in them... how f'ing hard will it be to forge a Con-Edison bill that you get in the mail on cheap paper stock? Duh. Gimme a break.

They make these rules that cause enormous hassle for some folks... ya gotta deal with the DMV idiots... to "keep us safe"... and yet the real crooks can circumvent the whole thing with a $100 printer.
The people that come up with this stuff are so effing stupid.
    Whatever. :banghead:

New York State Real ID requirements:

You MUST bring to the office the following original or certified proof documents:
    • Proof of identity, such as valid license, birth certificate or passport, with your full first, middle (if applicable) and last name. This name, as it appears on your proof of identity, will be displayed on your card as required by federal law.
    • Proof of Social Security Number or Social Security Number ineligibility. If you have a valid NY license, permit or ID card, you must bring your original social security card or W-2 with full SSN. If you do not have a New York State driver license or identification card, you must bring your Social Security Card or a letter from the Social Security Administration proving your ineligibility to have a social security number. If you lost your Social Security Card, you must get a duplicate before you come to the DMV. The Social Security Administration website has more information on obtaining a duplicate card.
    • Proof of your date of birth.
    • Proof of U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency or temporary lawful status in the U.S.
    • Two different proofs of New York State residence such as utility bill, bank statement or mortgage statement (P.O. Box not acceptable). This address will be displayed on your card.
    • If the name on your license, permit, or non-driver ID application does not match the name on your identity, lawful status, and social security proofs you must bring in court or government issued proof(s) documenting the event(s) causing your name change(s) such as a marriage license(s), divorce decree(s), adoption, or court order document(s).
The application process also requires the DMV to take a new photo.

So the same information needed for a license is required on an sss application? I don't see what the argument is here?

Illegals have been flying forever, they've been getting licenses forever, it's not 'till the GOP decided to make them the latest scapegoat that this became a problem. I still think real ID is just a money grab though.

It is not enforced, that is the problem. Illegal immigrants will never be held to account for the fact that they are driving on our privileges, but have no duty to serve our country. How many of them have checked that "NO" box, and then put into prison? ZERO. Not a one. Our system is flawed.

We give them license to drive in our states, while they have no obligation to defend this nation through the SSS. It is BS, because when I was growing up, I understood it was my duty. These free-loaders come in and get those same privileges, but never are held accountable for their violations? I call bullshit on the process.
