Ooops! Everyone re-do your costs for Global "Warming"

  1. I think it is a little ridiculous to believe that climate change doesn't exist at all and it would be very presumptuous to think that mankind has no impact on the environment around it. I'm sure claims are exaggerated on both sides of the argument to garner support. This is the case with most causes.

In my humble opinion, we should do whatever we can to conserve our resources and preserve our planet because it is the logical thing to do and for no other reason.

  2. exactly, logic, reason, thinking, discussing...

To this we need facts. Facts that are true. Facts, where the people rapporting them have to backthem up.

Representative Candice Miller has called for a Congressional investigation into the climategate scandal, saying that the deliberate destruction of data by scientists intimately involved in the UN IPCC in order to avoid FOIA requests was a “criminal act” and blows away the whole foundation for the cap and trade legislation.

Miller made the case that climategate completely undermines the cap and trade legislation passed by Congress earlier this year, which would lead to massive outsourcing of jobs, redistribution of wealth to other countries as well as devastating the economy and states that rely on coal for electricity production, such as Michigan, for whom Miller is a representative.

“If cap and trade were to pass, Michigan’s economy would be devastated, but we were told that it had to happen because the alternative is worse,” said Miller, before discussing climategate, noting that the content of the leaked emails has “blown away the scientific foundation for the man-made global warming theory.”

“These troubling emails show that some of the most respected and quoted and published scientists have used “tricks” to manipulate data, refused to release the data that is the foundation for their research, and they’ve attempted to silence any critics of their hypothesis, and even expressed dismay that they could not explain recent cooling taking place across the globe,” said Miller.

Miller then quoted the most infamous emails including Phil Jones’ “hide the decline” passage and Kevin Trenberth’s email, where he states, “The fact is that we can’t account for the lack of warming at the moment and it is a travesty that we can’t.” Trenberth was a lead author of the 1995, 2001, and 2007 IPCC Scientific Assessment of Climate Change.

“An inconvenient truth that temperatures were declining required a “trick” to hide it,” noted Miller.

  6. I am sure you mean well and your motivation is to have a good future. I also wrote about a 10 page dispute on "global warming" or "change" or whatever they need to call it to keep the ball rolling on my blog so I am not basing it on this statement but please allow me to respond to your post directly based only on your logic.

I live in Wisconsin and anyone who would like to argue that this is not a cold place is welcome to come up here next month and we can sit outside and talk about it. With that being said, Wisconsin at one time was TROPICAL JUNGLE and much warmer than it is today. it was also covered in ice at one time too.

So I would argue respectfully that if YOUR /NASA numbers are correct(which is not undisputed even within nasa) they are very much also a short term variation.

This is all about votes, the rest is smoke and mirrors. The left found out that they could turn this into a religion and are using it to motivate voters and gather money (like anything just follow the money to the answer).

The right has their highly motivating religious hot button topics and this is the lefts equal version. The actual realities are meaningless when an issue can gather votes and contributions to campaigns.

(speaking of winter coming along at the end of the month can someone get the "climate change" put back to "global warming" as we could use some warming here in WI???)

This is one of my sticking points whenever people state that "Global Climate Change" is a problem. I have been to a cave in Colorado where the bones of camels, cheetahs, and other animals have been removed. A brief discussion with the scientists working there showed that the climate in Colorado has changed significantly over time, and long before fossil fuels were around (~1 million yrs ago). I do not deny that the climate is changing, but who is to say that the way it is now (or was 100 yrs ago) is the way it's supposed to be?

I'm all for doing what is reasonable to protect our environment, but some of the current talk of 50-80% reduction in CO2 by 2050 is just crazy. There is no way we can meet those goals.

  8. As the OP I want to make it clear that although I do not believe in man made climate change (or global warming as it used to be called), I do subscribe to healthy debate and transparency.

Temperature data should be made available to all and when this is restricted, or abused, and when hundreds of prominent scientists oppose the idea of man made climate change or global warming but are repeatedly ignored by the media, then my suspicions are aroused that there is a hidden agenda at work.

Furthermore, when those who are pushing this one sided view stand to benefit most financially I can only see red flags that demand closer inspection.

Finally, scientists are far from experts at understanding what data is predicting. If scientists were experts with data then all scientists would be rich from trading. Traders have to become skilled at data interpretation to make their living and frankly the approach taken by many scientists would bankrupt them if applied to trading.

We have so little quality data and understanding of the complex interactions that we don't even know if reducing greenhouse gases will work against us and be the cause of climate instability.

However, until for the sake of our childrens futures we make this data freely available to everyone and ensure there is an equal platform given to both sides, then we truly are in as much danger from big brother as from climate change.

  9. Some good points.....but the REAL agenda of the Global Warming scam is the PLANNED "end around" of national sovereignty. The Global Warming agenda and their selected minions (like AL "The Joke" Gore) is all about pumping Globalist directed multi-national agency agreements down our throat.

The PLANNED manipulation, to have international agencies directed carbon tax schemes, was definitely a key component to defeating national sovereignties in favor of the dire needs of the world (Globalists create the problem and then rush in with their solutions.....which of course included more control for them and in this case control over ENERGY usage).

The ability to tax and control ENERGY usage at the international level through the "Global Warming" agenda is the globalists objective. Globalist entities sucking more monies out of the world through taxation while also controlling who gets what ENERGY and when......oh what a warming thought!

Well I could go on and on about the Global Warming agenda, but I have to get ready for a snow storm that is about to hit Austin, Texas in the morning!
