Ooooops TradeStation!

  1. IB was slow to fill for you? Not here. Got great fills right in the middle of the wide-range bars that followed the announcement. Button Trader as front end.

I'm actually surprised that real traders use TradeStation. I had this idea that it was something for dentists. If Anek and Surdo are using it, I suppose it must be real.

"Real trader" nah, I have to tell my parents I am doing something besides watching porn and playing video games in the basement all day!

I will be looking into this Ninja/Zenfire set up as well.
My problem is I have a few E.L.D. thingees that will only run on TS, perhaps time to have them work elsewhere.

Thanks to all that responded, even you Frog Trader!

  3. I think you'll like Ninja/Zen-Fire very much. You will not find faster execution, and if you put it next to TS it is like night and day.

If I want to keep TS for charts ONLY, and execute only on NINJA, would I be able to do that?

I tried to get back to TS 8.2 from 8.3 but I was never asked about converting/transferring the old desktops and workspaces...

It just installed and ran as if it was a brand-new platform, completely ingnoring the other version.

I think that if you UPGRADE, then it's possible.

If you DOWNGRADE, i dont think you are allowed to use your saved desktops.

    I'll call tech support now.

I was able to move EVERYTHING from 8.3 to 8.2 as well as 8.1 to 8.2. You have to actually pay attention and read those little boxes when you do the install! You do not need some bozo technician to walk you through it.

    Amen.

Most of the times I have to trade off of the Bid/Ask blindly, since they are snapshots the delay are less and closer to reality.

Please help the future traders by voting against TS.
TS is such a cheat, they lure the new traders by not providing them with a trial and by the time they find their way around EL they are already entangled in the learning curve that becomes next to impossible to leave TS.
Please help the new victims and punish TS by including your review in the Broker review section and pushing their rating down. A few TS attack dogs will start insulting you but hey, it's worth it you're doing the forum a service.

My choice is also NT/Zen and am looking for the broker. Being high vol. >2k RT the comm is important and so far nothing better than $4/RT and my goal is closer to 3, any suggestions please(meanwhile I'm giving money to TS as much as I hate them)?

Also looking at Open Quant 2 which I like so much it's closeness to MSFT editor. Again, appreciate comments.

For all those hesitating to leave TS because their present code involvement, trust me it is by far easier and quicker learning C# than trying to work out wrappers, DLL's and workarounds to your needs in the effort trying to twist the EL do half the calculation you desire to do!

    - Vote against TradeStation.
    - Review Tradestation in the broker review section and give them the rating they deserve. Do it now!

Absolutely, you can run both paralell and more get a free trial from NT and immediately you'll be set to go.
Mind you, once you get used to NT, it's charting is better than TS! It has Chart Trader!!! Additionally just move your mouse on the axis bars and see the difference, or try adding indicators and notice how many less clicks you'll need. It is by far more Ergonomic than TS.

  9. You are right, if you trade intra day and use leverage paying for CQG will be money well spent.

You simply can not depend on these sub par platforms during as you said mission critical days.
