Ontario declares State of Emergency!

  1. Wrong. They outlawed crypto used to fund "terrorism" as well. Only Monero survives this type of law. Tainted coins are a real thing.

Ok, dude, if you say so

They can outlaw it, but it does not affect bitcoin owners

Good luck with your monero, btw, it was a big part of my crypto portfolio a few years ago but I own 0 monero now

Gotta hand it to ya John, you called it.

Guess I should have should have stocked up on bit coin when you recommended it. Problem is there isn't anywhere to spend it up here and I can't get across the border because of the protestors. So far I can still access my bank accounts and I'm waiting for BTC to confirm an uptrend. Maybe next week.

FWIW; Declaring an Emergency was unnecessary, all the laws they need are in place, it's just that no one wants to enforce them.

Spending bitcoin or any cryptos is not the goal

Having decentralized, censorship-resistant, trustless, permission-less money and store of value is

For example, if I was living in Canada right now and for some reason was targeted and all my accounts frozen, they cannot freeze my assets below. In fact, they have no idea I have them

When me or any member of my family is able to cross to the US or any country, I can send an amount to turn into cash or goods or services

  5. You acquired these Bitcoin without an identity anchor? No exchanges/KYC involved? Nice.

Some of the bitcoins are KYC'ed

Compartmentalized by creating specific addresses for receiving specific bitcoins and perform advanced coin-controls when spending and use another wallet for intermediate transfers to and from

A long time ago, you can purchase bitcoins from Virwox using Linden $. Virwox is non-US based entity

What is nice is that you can use credit cards to purchase Linden $ (Second Life virtual currency), then once you have them in your Virwox account, trade them for bitcoins

Virwox is closed so any KYC credit cards there are no longer available

    https://www.virwox.com/index.php

The point is that even if they are KYC'ed bitcoins, it does not matter any longer once they are in local wallets

That goes for the USDC cryptos

All cryptos are on the blockchain(s)

No one can seize or freeze your bitcoins/cryptos, unless you tell them you have them and they force you

Hey John; If you don't mind, walk me through the process of moving money. It doesn't even have to be anonymously. I have heard that fees for ATMs are very pricy. (+10%).

How would I go about getting hold of $5000 to pay my rent.

Let me separate 2 functions of bitcoin/cryptos as a store of value. In the picture on my post, there's over half a million US $ but as you mentioned, you do not need to spend that much for life expenses

So, to get $5,000 to spend in Canada, the easiest is to have a Coinbase account and a PayPal account with a PayPal debit card

You can transfer some bitcoins to Coinbase from the wallet, sell $5000, instantly transfer to PayPal 24/7 and spend using the PayPal credit card, all within the span of 10-20 minutes depending on bitcoin block confirmations

I've done this in the middle of the night, using Coinbase, instantly transferred $10,000 to PayPal account. PayPal debit card can take $$$ from any ATM worldwide

This place also allows you to wire money to you bank and it's located in Canada https://ledn.io/en/

But all of these are not functional if the financial system in Canada are in disarray due to Emergency Martial Law situation

Hence, this is where bitcoin and cryptos shine. You do not need to utilize the financial systems in Canada

  9. I just wish you crypto guys would develop a private stable coin. I have no desire to buy a speculative form of cash.

Look at all the gymnastics you have to go through just to avoid KYC.

There is no need to avoid KYC all the time

Addresses do not have names or addresses

I don't think you use cryptos

I've done hundreds if not thousands of on-chain cryptos transactions

Believe me, there's enough built-in privacy with bitcoins and cryptos

Unless you're a hardcore criminal like a drug-dealer or ransomware hacker or an assassin for hire, you do not need anymore privacy where international LEO's or even US authorities are looking for people like you

Trust me, you do not need monero-type level of privacy crypto, Agent 007
