Yeah we will see how well Germany does when Putin cuts off supply. The whole windmill thing is a cute idea, but it just doesnt work, just like solar.
You guys are all dummies... mark this post and check back in 50 years. All the solar energy in the world will be collected by satellites and beamed down via technologies we have yet to see, but have their roots in, in the most primitive ways, the tech we utilize now for wireless charging. The friggin sun is soooo powerful.... It's all there for our taking guys. Snap out out your provincial mindsets, park your pre-concieved notions at the door... and think outside the box. Free energy delivers itself daily... 24/7. It's there for the taking. Unless of course... we destroy ourselves first.
I'm not against nuclear at all, but anyone who spends any time on alternative energies knows they can power the world's demand.
sounds like a middleman to the sun itself. we watched a documentary on Netflix yesterday: the sun gives the earth more energy in 1 hour than all humans consume in a year.
most energy we consume is middleman solar except nuclear or geothermal. Panels are 22% efficient so best theoretical panel is merely 5x smaller which will likely never happen since i'm sure I'm ignoring 2nd law of thermo there somehow. The sun is awesome but you need tons of area to capture it so are best using the earth indirectly via wind/hydro/plant lest you run into a Mr. Burns block the sun scenario the good news is Livermore appears to have cracked the fusion problem this year so we will have our own canned solar soon w/o the pesky distance/bb universe which makes actual solar inefficient.
