Online Trading Mentoring?

Discussion in 'Professional Trading' started by jr07, Apr 6, 2009.

  1. Your right traders need a min of 30k that’s the min. preferably 100k. Now I hope Robert Hoffman advises his students to not waste there time trying to trade for a living with 10k.

But why would he do that, he just eliminated over half his students. Go to his chat room and mention its just plain suicide trying to day trade index futures with 10k and see what happens. You will be banned, it’s a scam plain and simple.

You are pathetic, did puretick blow up your account or was it Oscar. Find something positive to say or say nothing at all.

Robert is a professional trader who also happens to be so unbelievably kind he is willing to teach how to trade as well, he in no way needs the money. I thank God every day that he put Robert in my path.

I was talking about trading for a living. I do however think it is entirely possible for one person to build up his capital over time.
The problem with trading for a living is that setups are inconsistently happening over a period of time, while living expenses are continuous and consistent.
Building capital doesn't have that problem.

So saying a person can't benefit from his free education would be wrong to say.

So far the only argument I've heard that he is a fake and not a real trader, is that he asks money for his services. His broker Infinity futures should vouch for him being a real trader. Or do you think Infinity futures would affiliate themselves with a fake?
Do you have any better arguments?

  5. Not in this business, scams need to be exposed. He is so generous he gave $100.00 to his favorite charity. My gosh $100.00 to an animal charity. That’s one big spender.

Puretick, Woodies CCI, Oscar they all are in the same class as PowerCharting

  6. Define a real trader. Just have him post his 1099 for 2008. Or let’s see the trades. Offer some proof that this guy is a profitable trader.

Oh wait I already asked you that, and you said for me to ask his broker.

What the F is wrong with you.

The common sense you exhibited one post ago out the window? The 30,000 to Trade for a living I agree with.

But then you make a statement like this?
If Robert Hoffman would post his blotter you wouldn't believe him anyway.
And I doubt he would actually post his full blotter. But he does record his trades for the paid room.
There's a P&L thread on ET and estimated to be over 50% fake blotters.

Seriously, the best free and more believable way to find out, is ask his broker.

Regarding Robert Hoffman responses to my comments:

From my cursory study, a simple daily Floor Pivot line will work just as well (statistically) as Roberts sophisticated levels. However, they are much easier to trade and of course widely documented.

As for Robert generosity, most services offer some "free" stuff to hook you before they charge you. $400 a month is a hefty price from my perspective, especially when combined with Roberts consistent claims (not a businessman, just a trader ..... his main concern is to educate all for free ..... all should be weary of gurus except him of course ....)
