Online Trading Academy

Discussion in 'Educational Resources' started by jonkry, Aug 5, 2008.

  1. The reason is the massive numbers of snake oilers and downright conmen in the trader education business. Let's face it, there is nothing in any course that justifies the cost that isn't available for free or nearly so in book or online form. These set ups taught in these classes don't contain true edge for if they did the instructors would be wealthy ( they are not). It's truly very simple if you just apply basic logic to making the decision. What works isn't and cannot be taught in an academy. If it actually worked, it soon wouldn't due to the market changing to counteract the new group using the once effective method. Stop being blinded by easy money making method for sale dreams. They don't exist-- it's actually impossible for them to. The markets make sure of this.

  2. Exactly. Broker statements may make more sense for the last 5 years, wait, what about the instructors 5 years of statements? Where are they??

Jo pretty much laid out everything that is taught in the course. Why would anyone need to spend the money now for the course? She told us what it is.

  3. The person who posted about all self proclaimed experts and how those are people u want on the other side of ur trade, I salute you and couldn't agree more.

To everyone else _ Thank you all for your contributions. No education=more money for me and the other poster who "gets it".

The teachers do make a lot of money trading. And their statements are audited from what I've heard. They teach cuz trading is BORING and lonely
If u find trading exciting u are doing something wrong. But keep getting excited. I need u for my bottom line

I'm stupid for encouraging all of the dumb money in this room to get an education. I was trying to help struggling traders out by steering them in a direction that they clearly need. Once all the dumb money gets educated, my job gets harder.

But you all go keep searching for ur indicators and oscillators and macds and moving averages. Stare at ur haramis and dojis and get excited so my job as a trader will stay easy.

And The comment abt me posting my 1099s was a JOKE.

OTA is a great place to brush up on stratergies, ask questions and gain different prespectives on trading.

instructors are great and it's a good enviroment where it's all about markets and making $.

it is not the end all when it comes to trading, trading is about 85% mental, once I realized that, as if by magic, I became profitable shortly thereafter. with that being said, ota will give you the other 15% you need, which is different stratergies, prespectives, and you will meet lots and lots of other traders where you will have a chance to exchange ideas and learn from their mistakes. i beleive this is the holy grail, realizing that it's all in the mind, those who are consistently profitable as well know exactly what i am talking about.

paying someone $ to train you will not make you profitable, if that was the case every college graduate would be rich, instead, and sadly, millions are either collecting unemployment or fliping burgers.

notice how none of their students ever bash it, it's always "i know someone who took the course" or "a friend told me" or "i attended their seminar", don't listen to these fools do your own research

I think once u do have the educatiion it becomes more like 95 percent, but i agree with ur statement.

I dont believe in any holygrail, but i dont know of any other resource that can help you through the endeveor as much.

  7. Yes - lets hear the ota students bash ota .

Come on ota students. Tell the people how much of a scam ota is. Anyone?

  8. So your saying I should be weary and concerned when OTA tells me that trading is easy money? And when they tell me they can teach me how to buy the exact low and short the exact high, I should take that with a grain of salt? What about if they claim that I can get rich quick with their techniques... should I be suspect that they have ulterior motives?

  9. Trading is very simple. Just not easy. If they told u that they guarantee u anything related to profits, then the branch u are going to is doing a bad job in recruiting, and id say they are lying. But I truly don't believe you, bassed on my own experiences and everyone I've talked to personally. But If what u are saying is factual then u should stay away of course.

However_if u are truly searching for education then I would seek another branch and see if they tell u the same thing. if they are telling u this, then they must have changed their recruitment strategies which would be stupid of them. {They are a business}. But If u are seeking profitability without education then u are living in a fantasy world.

  10. No, not at all. Just that nothing is taught that isn't common sense or freely available.

Read trading in theZione and winner take all. That's truly all you ever need to know. Don't throw your money away for holy grails
