Ur right - I work for ota. You got me. I am a shill. I paid all that money to them for nothing in return. Oops I mean they pay me money? Honestly no way. But they did help me along my journey and continue to. For a fee of course . They do have a referral program now that would pay me 400 dollars if I got someone new. Woo hoo. Spread the word quick. But they didn't have that when I originally posted. Their business is education, not software prop firm stuff. Maybe prop firm education is better I do not know. Did u not catch the part that I said I want to hear of a better education resource because I don't know of any. Do you know any good ones? I would be willing to listen. I like daytraderradio.com with daytraderrockstar although he only has his style of trading like everyone should. Unlike many, he knows what he's dooing. I believe he overtrades, but I don't know how successful he is overall. But I know nothing else but him and ota so let me know what u think is good. Anyway back to ota-There are pros and cons of ota like anything. I don't know anyone that took the classes that say any of this was a waste. There are definitely things I don't like about the cirriculum. You can pm me if u want to focus on negativity. Depending on how u like to trade I can tell you who would be the best instructor or worst instructor would be for you depending on where u live. If I don't know I can find out. I know most of them from the xlt program which iis really where u get the best education. If taking the class u are going to want to find out about the particular instructors because all instructors teach differently and will make or break ur experience. But u can retake with someone else. For those who are even considering. Nobody can promise you anything in this business. And I don't know if it is possible to be successful in this business without losing money at first. If u have been trading for a while perhaps u may find some of the education redundant. But I don't find any education wasteful. U simply cannot have that mindset when trading. There is no magic 8 ball. Just probabilities and risk management. Small losses, small gains, big gains, NO BIG LOSSES. Use hard stops at all times. I'm sure u know the drill. At least u better. You need to accept losing and learn to feel the same on winning days as u do on days that u take small losses. Small gaibs and. Big gains. U cannot have any big losses or u stop trading to figure out what u did wrong. Untill ur mindset is clear and u are ready to stop blaming others u can trade again. U can never have a bias long or short. Always be prepared for both sides You need to do what u do besst and stick with. If u have this figured out then stop complaining and go do what works for you. For people who are not new to this, and are looking for further education and a place to listen and learn from as they trade, they have the xlt program which is online and it is a lifetime membership. Despite what the website says about 3 months plus extra fees etc it is a 1 time flat feee that is negotiable. Depebdibg on the online xlt class u are in there are approx 100_400 people in the online room each session which ios 3 times a week for 2 hours each class per each course. All Fees are negotiable. You can pm meif u have questions that a "shill" would not post.
Actually, whether or not you are one of them, ota definitely has a dept that goes on many review, trading and other sites (including youtube) and falsifies large numbers reviews and "rebuts" serious reviews. First of all, any serious trader is aware that these things rarely work, second, there is ample evidence that ota is a scam from knowledgeable people who have attended their sessions, third there is no way that many students would post the large quantity of happy/glowing reviews that look and smell like faked reviews by other companies, fourth, the shilling is glaring, fifth, is there any evidence anyone there stuff works? etc. etc.
I met someone who took the OTA class. He did like it but said that what really helped him was the XLT portion. He also said he spent a lot of money on other courses. Instead of all the bashing back and forth how about posts talking about personal education and how trading was learned(ie books, courses, seminars etc). Seems like that would be more beneficial to people reading the posts. Lots of people bash pay for training but no one mentions how they were trained. Seems like it's a secret.
My only question for these OTA guys would be to answer this question with proof: "DO YOU MAKE MONEY TRADING?" Gordon Gecko said it well: "It's all about the bucks, kid. The rest is just conversation." Oh, and I'm more than happy to take on any swipes from the obvious OTA shills on this thread. My Vikings lost, and I'm pissed!
I now make money consistantly for about 5 months after about 7 months of ups and downs. i believe i gpt where i am quicker than most. Although im nowhere in the clear yet. But ota certainly helped to y steer me in the right direction. I think if anything it will speed up the process . If u have experience, consider going straight to the xlt program thats where i feel ive gained the most. Talk to them, they wilk negotiate with you. Remember- 90 percent of traders fail. I believe this is because they get into it for the wrong reasons. - either they think they know it all and have to be right. In trading u only habe to be right half the time. U can be profitable if u are right 40 percent or less with good risk mgmnt. Most people cannot handle being wrong every day so their ego gets to them which is normal. But trading doesnt work this way. Got to learn to accept being wrong. Nobody can teach u this but you. -some cannot mentally end the day netting zero dollars which should be considered as a good day. - some start off cuz they like to gamble so they think trading will be perfecr for them cuz they can gamble legally. No gambler will make it trading if they dont change their attitiude. - some have more money then they know what to do with. - The majority of people lack discipline (the most important) but some never realize how important of a role this plays and want to blame places like ota or other resources for their poor trading .......... If unthink ota is going to make you money in itself then u have very unrralistic expectations for any trading education. And u are likely part of the 90 percent group. You need to realize that YOU are the reason why you will either make money or lose money. It is your responsibility, not ota's. They are selling a very good education, not a subscription to profitability in trading. Nobody can sell you that. Not sure if it is possible to make money consistantly without first losing at least some of it and feeling some pain. However, if u are disciplined, then ota will certainky help to steer you in the right direction and u will likely lose much less before becoming profitable (or not). They are an education resource. They are very good with that as ive stated before. They are not there with you when u are alone at ur computer trading. Nobody will be, unless u are at a prop firm which ive never been.
It is really quite fascinating and amazing the amount of riff raff that continues to show up on this thread---self proclaimed experts chastising and making accusations and negative presumptions... based on no empirical knowledge whatsoever however...no experience in the least to support their egregious opinions. And to this class of "experts"-- I sincerely thank you from the bottom of my heart for the closed minded, ignoramus mentality you collectively possess... and furthermore--I implore and urge you to not change in least...you are EXACTLY who I want on the other side of my trades.
Lots of bashing but not much useful info or guidance. I wonder why?! Seems like most traders don't want to divulge where they got their education or start. And why all the name calling from so called professionals/adults?
