This is very nice, and fast, and a big improvement from earlier versions. Next time you're tweaking it, I'd suggest making the chart display with one increment of white space above the profitability curves. At present the dashed line curve bumps into the border between the chart and the rest of the page and it's difficult to look at / get the data from the mouse hover. Also, the decimal points on the charts's y-axis should be removed.
To avoid a wild goose chase, the above situation can be avoided IF the browser window is maximized. If the browser window is not maximized (at least in my experience) pulling the curve down or using the mouse's scroll button to accomplish the same task hides the stock price on the x-axis. When the window is maximized the prices are still displayed.
Would you mind providing a screenshot of undesired behavior? I've tried to reproduce but found only the chart resize bug which I already knew about. As for your previous post, I'll add your hints to my todo list, except mybe the latter one: sometimes decimals are actually useful, but I'll check what can be done when they are not, though. P.S. @Brighton, thanks for getting in touch! Any feedback shows that it's not a complete waste of time to share my tools and adapt them for public use.
Some updates so far: All done, check it out. This bug is also fixed, now everything should resize fine. Looking forward to the complete redesign.
Hi there! Today I'm proud to launch the third major update of my option toolbox. There's a huge list of bugfixes, improvements, and optimizations, among them are: Complete redesign for the much cleaner, responsive and mobile friendly UI. Almost everything is automatically saved, including even your chart settings and position. Hope you like it! Your feedback is always welcome.
Meanwhile at www.optionpnl.info) v3.2.0: + fast access to your recent ticker symbols, + manage your local storage used by the app. P. S. Don't forget that you can use your local IB terminal (either TWS or Gateway) as the source of realtime streaming quotes (as I do).
Nice to see you again, guys. Here's another bunch of updates on optionpnl.info: Thanks to ivolatility.com, we now have an implied volatility history and options traded volume over the last couple of years. The data is served as a little picture, so it can't be stretched without quality loss, but it's much better than nothing, imo. I've added a fullscreen button to it, though. New York time and market's current status: opened, closed, pre- and post- market. This thing is aware of holidays, knows what to do if a holiday falls on a weekend, and also knows about traditional early market closes (e.g. on the day after Thanksgiving). Quotes processing moved from the remote server (which is relatively slow on a free hosting plan) to a client's local machine, which in theory should significantly increase the speed of quotes loading (in practice, for my laptop it at least doubles).
Happy 4th, America. I have two things for you today. 1. Another list of the Option Toolbox updates (current version is 3.9.2): fixed a lot of nasty bugs and issues, added a lot of minor features, greatly optimized PnL chart (~10 times faster calculation), created full 3D IV surface instead of 2D IV smile, introduced experimental volatility prediction algorithm as explained by Mr. Kioui on stackexchange, created a dedicated blog. 2. I don't feel like constant posting about new features here is really interesting (and also I plan to finally create some manuals), so I decided to move all the future activity to the newly created blog. If you're interested in the project, feel free to visit me here sometimes.
