Your chances are probably better if you took the $7,000 to build the website, and buy lottery tickets. Trying to build a "big" website because you want to get rich is beyond unlikely. Putting up a site, no matter how professional, is not even a start. The advertising and promotionals and marketing efforts will probably require $100,000s to $1,000,000s. And even then, you will 99% likely fail. The competition is beyond horrendous, and they have far more resources than you could even imagine. And even then, most of them struggle to make any real profits.
The website designer I plan to use says that he has great free ideas to get traffic to the site. They have been around since 1997. They also sell web hosting, so they have an interest in your site doing well, so you can stick around with them paying them for web hosting. I know some of you may say that he just wants to sell me a website, but he seems genuine. I guess it's like any other business venture; you take a chance and see what happens. Worst case, I take a tax deduction for the loss and move on. Plus, I can call this preacher that I saw on TV the other day. He will send me a free handkerchief with his name on it, and it's supposed to bring miracles into your life, so I have that going for me. I can also call this other preacher and order some free miracle water, so I have that going for me as well.
I didn't think there was anyone that clueless left on Earth... I can imagine a 9-year old thinking this had any validity...
