I've been using the online backup services of Mozy/MozyPro for the past couple years now and am looking for opinions of other services that are available (Carbonite, SOS, etc). I am open to a change because Mozy has been OK, but not their auto-backup software is not always reliable.
I looked at different backup options recently. The best alternative that worked for me is Amazon services. This is great deal. You pay for only what you use. It is 15c per Gb storage. Very reliable server. To interface with Amazon servers you need program such as Jungle Disk, see: http://www.jungledisk.com/ You can automatically backup and restore files as well as to create network drive to store and move files. Nothing is perfect. The problem that I found is that it does not have synchronization function. To do so, I use third party program: Second copy http://www.centered.com/ Hope this helps
If you want something free but works as slick as others, Try Live Mesh from Microsoft, http://www.mesh.com/ Between It syncs files to even mobiles devices, if you are using a windows mobile device
Maybe I am missing something, honestly, but can't you just buy webhosting, like 9.99/month from 1and1, and get 250GB?
