    Unfortunately, those are the truth.
Guess you do not watch the Science Channels on cable.

  2. Great video on the likelihood and consequences of an asteroid or comet collision is Fire in the Sky. You can get it at Hollywood Video...don't rush out all at once.

WASHINGTON –– Former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger stepped down Friday as chairman of a panel investigating the Sept. 11 attacks, citing controversy over potential conflicts of interest with his private-sector clients.....

Maybe the 9/11 mess is way too much even for Kissinger to handle. Taking public office again, even for the most masterful coverup artist could be too much. Old skeletons from the millions of civilians they we slaughtered while he was secretary of state my come back to hunt him and this administration for selecting him.

    Kissinger, in His Own Words

"I don't see why we need to stand by and watch a country go communist due to the irresponsibility of its people. The issues are much too important for the Chilean voters to be left to decide for themselves."
-- Henry Kissinger, Secretary of State under Richard Nixon, about Chile prior to the CIA overthrow of the democratically elected government of socialist President Salvadore Allende in 1973

"Why should we flagellate ourselves for what the Cambodians did to each other?"
-- Henry Kissinger - who (with Richard Nixon) was responsible for the massive bombing of Cambodia in 1973, which killed three-quarters of a million peasants and disrupted Cambodian society, setting the stage for Pol Pot to come to power and ultimately kill another one-and-a-half million people

"Covert action should not be confused with missionary work."
-- Henry Kissinger, commenting on the US sellout of the Kurds in Iraq in 1975

"The illegal we do immediately. The unconstitutional takes a little longer."
    --Henry Kissinger

"Wouldn't have mattered very much. If the Vietnam domino had fallen then, no great loss."
-- Henry Kissinger, when asked "What if the United States had allowed Vietnam to go communist after World War II?"

This 9/11 may come down crashing in many "high standing" heads. It could make watergate and Iran Contra look like a child's play.

    what a quote!!!

"The illegal we do immediately. The unconstitutional takes a little longer."
    --Henry Kissinger

  5. The biggest difference between an asteroid smashing into our planet and planes smashing into our buildings is that we can control the latter.

Otherwise, if a half-mile wide rock is headed towards us, there isn't a whole lot we can do except tough it out when it hits.

    Cathy,

I for one have full faith that in the event of an imminent asteroid collision, Bruce Willis and a bunch of rag tag wild catters from Texas will save humanity (with a little help from Nasa).

    Wait a minute....wasn't that a movie?

Since the earth is mostly water, this asteroid will probably hit an ocean and cause a tidal wave.
I guess we all better learn to swim?

  10. My plan is to drill a big hole in the Earth so the asteroid passes right through. Of course, the Earth will look like a big doughnut, but...
